440i Xdrive + G20 electronic LSD swap, need DSC issue.
Hi!
Maybe I’m the first guy who swapped a G20 rear differential into an F3x, and it works completely like stock on a RWD car. You just need to swap the GHAS and DSC from an F8x so that the electronics function correctly. Unfortunately, when I swapped the DSC from an F80 into my xDrive car, I ran into a problem with the VTG, which effectively turned my car into a RWD one. https://youtube.com/shorts/sDkLWJLdQ...ZvYEpnAkQG-lCY The issue is that the stock DSC from an F2x/F3x doesn’t have the correct parameters to communicate with the GHAS, while the DSC from an F8x can control the GHAS but lacks the parameters to work with the VTG. Maybe someone can help me create custom software that combines the DSC logic from the F30 and F80 into one unit? ![]() |

Super interesting, I’ve been looking at an LSD option for my xDrive F22 240i and looked at the G-Series OEM LSD’s. What else did you have to change to fit the G20 LSD? Axles, driveshaft etc.

I doubt this would work but maybe you could run both DSC modules side by side. Have the f30 one be the main one but tee all the wires to the f80 one as an appendage to control the rear. There's probably some sort of feedback loop though so I doubt it would work. You could do it nicely in the wiring, get the connectors and make a little jump harness. I've never seen the pin out so I don't know what all the DSC module has in/out.

You need to make a custom axles, the differential fits as stock, because it the same 215 type like from RWD car or mperformance, driveshaft is stock from 440i xdrive

![]() How do you imagine it would be in Esys, like one DSC and two Cafd files or two DSC with different Cafds? |

You would have both there with separate files flashed independently, the car would only see the f30 module. You'd have to bridge the wiring in such a way so the f80 one was there just secretly getting / sending the subset of the right signals to do the thing for the rear diff.
