i tried this and was unsuccessful...it seems they have changed some key/value pairs on the F32...i do not see
Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_output = nsl_l Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_Function = nebelschlusslicht Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output = nsl_l Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_Function = nebelschlusslicht The closest i have are MAPPING_NEBELSCHW_L_OUTPUT AND MAPPING_NEBELSCHW_R_OUTPUT i figured i'd give that a shot and change those values from "off" to "nsw_l" but when i coded the fdl it came back with an error...so i tried again but i think the error was pretty severe and i could not read coding data of the CAFD any longer...i had to basically reset FEMBODY to get it to work again which erases any coding you did and resets it back to stock ...but i'm an idiot and thought maybe i did something wrong the first time and i tried again...same thing...so i gave up if anyone has any suggestions please let me know...it would be nice to get this working as i wouldn't mind having some extra light back there when i'm reversing...the current backup lights are way too dim |

2) Those 4 codes are in REM (Rear Electronics Module) not FEM_BODY (Front Electronics Module).

ah yes you are right, i was looking in FEMBODY for those 2...they were indeed in REM...thanks for the millionth time! got it to work although i don't think these are quite as bright as the ones posted earlier...if anyone knows how to increase the backup light brightness, PLEASE let me know! thanks to the OP for the very clear instructions...entire mod took about 30 minutes...the thing that took the most time were smoothening out those tabs that wouldn't allow you to press the button in |

I ordered the ECS switch but the rear fog button does not light up. Does the button light up only after you activate the rear fog function? Just installed it but haven't had time to take the laptop out to the car to program it.

No idea, the US spec one does not have an LED.. Let us know after you code it. I would guess not.

Hell yeah!
Awesome DIY! My rear fogs now work so I'm not eventually hassled by control technique here in Belgium! The only small difference, the nsl_r was the value for the right side:
Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output = nsl_l >>>>selected nsl_r and worked great! no nsl_l value selectable Again, great job! |

Some research would need to be done to figure out the exact led that is being used by BMW on these PCB's… but you could easily solder one on. |

azwillnj… excellent post thus far… I have only been able to complete the physical switch portion as I am still trying to locate where and how to download the e-sys program and the data files. I have read the complete post by svache, however, are any of you guys able to point me in the right direction of actually getting the software itself downloaded.
thanks, |

Did you look in REM module instead of FEM_BODY?

What is the error?

This is a coding issue, not an FDL Setting issue. Are you able to successfully code other things?
