Thanks a lot, this was very helpful!

BTW, the OEM part Number is: 11537598234

It certainly looks like it was the next piece that was on its way out..
Here's the aluminum flange part number too in the photo. It's the plastic flange that breaks

Yeah, unfortunately it was probably jammed in a small box. Mine was in a box too small but at least just slightly bent not creased. I would return that.

It gets even better, I just checked the rest of my order and they also sent me 20mm wheels spacers instead of the 15mm ones I ordered...needless to say I'm pretty frustrated that I now need to return multiple parts that were either damaged or wrong, what a headache!

Wish I've seen this thread sooner. My gave up yesterday right after I parked it in my garage, wouldve been a disaster if it happened while I was on the highway.

Got coolant all over my garage floor.

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...61#description

can someone confirm that this is the correct part and will fit my 2014 435i? There were some post earlier that claimed fitment on the 435 was questionable.

Thanks!!

I also ordered the aluminum "mickey mouse" fitting from FCP but they sent me the wrong part, so that will have to wait.

I'm concerned when I see so many aftermarket improved versions of the OEM product.

How easy was it to get to this part when you replaced it? Were you doing it when you were completely refreshing the cooling system?

I might have answered my own question above. There are a few good threads in the 2 Series forums:

WOW, just had this happen to one of our n55 f30. It's sort of frustrating that they were able to use a rubber hose instead of a rigid plastic tube for the n20/n26. Also, I just had the same hose on a 330i f30 b46 break. It's much more difficult to replace as one end connection is under the intake manifold.

This same hose exploded on me a few weeks back when I lightly bumped into it doing an oil catch can installation. Definitely recommend replacing as well. My car had just over 80k miles.

Also recommend replacing the Crankcase Ventilation hose right behind the oil fill cap too. One gentle grab and it went *CRACK*.

Mine broke at the reservoir side with about 94K on the clock. Can't imagine how they could have manufactured this part any cheaper or more failure-prone. BMW should have just tossed a replacement in the trunk during production.

Dealership snapped mine off while doing an oil change. Charged for the hose but not the labour. I was planning to do it myself in the spring but this works too.

I'm new here and this issue is what brought me to this forum. I am in the same boat, I was changing the idler pulley and belt on my F31, and when I went to give it a test run in the garage, noticed a puddle right away. I ordered the replacement from FCP but came up with this temporary solution that I'm thinking of making permanent using a 3/8" fuel hose to run from the radiator to the catch tank. Why use plastic for such critical components?!?

Oh, I broke this hose, too, when replacing the radiator fan. I was not pleased. But Amazon State side had the replacement hose with next-day shipping. I was saved!
