M Performance Sport Brake Step by Step Coding
Just installed the M Performance Brake kit and did this the DSC coding, and braking feel is great. This is what I did
Using Esys 3.23.4 with psdzdata 51.1 1. Connect=>Expert Mode=>Coding=>Read FA=>Save FA 2. Editiors & Viewers=>FA-Editor=>Go to HO-Wort and right click to "Edit", then type (means add) "SPBR" under HO-Wort folder 3. Highlight the FA, "Activate FA" and "Calculate FA" to verify no error is found after adding the SPBR. 4. Check the Vehicle Profile to locate the "aftermarket retrofit" and verify the "SPBR_18_ZOLL_SPORTBRAKE" is added to the folder 5. Write FA to the car. No confirmation window will pop up after saving the FA to the car. So you need to go to next step for verification. 6. Expert Mode=>Coding=>Read FA. You are able to see the SPBR being added to the HO-Wort folder on your car. 7. Read SVT, and locate the "DSC" (File Folder SVT/ECU/DSC), then right click the "DSC" folder and select "Code". Coding would begin immediately. 8. Wait until the coding is finished, and repeat Step 1 to save a copy of the new FA. 9. Unplug the PC from the car. The M-Performance Brake is now enable and enjoy the genuine M-Performance Braking experience. Again, the usual discliamer: "try this code on your own risk..blah blah blah...". I would not answer any question, sorry. "Happy New Year" to all of you. Thank you |

Just curious, did you notice any difference in feel before/after the coding?

I think I need to at least answer this question.
I had the MP brake without SPBR for 2 weeks, the brake felt mushy, even would think that the stock brake feel was better. So did the DSC code to enable SPBR. The difference are: 1. The mushiness at the initial braking is gone. 2. Feel like the original stocks brake feel at the initial braking, when pedal it down a little more, more bite and deceleration are much better than without DSC Code. |

Interesting. I've been fighting a mushy pedal. I'm starting to wonder if the dealer didn't code correctly. I guess I'll need to learn how to code now lol

The dealer uses ISTA/P. They Add HO-Wort SPBR and VO Code car. Why would it be necessary to do any FDL Coding, when the dealer does not?

I also was trying this as i have the M Performance brake installed today and all my previous code went to hell. Got almost all old code working at least. Now this is what I did on the HO-Wort for my brakes. I tried and I think I got it working differently. My spbr folder was already created under HO and when I read and activate FA the SPBR_18_ZOLL_SPORTBRAKE was already there under aftermarket. I just went directly then to DSC and coded. I guess is working now, will try tomorrow to see the difference, also where is the code under DSC to check the rotor sizes? Thanks

People adding HO-Wort = SPBR and VO Coding DSC are installing the Sport Brakes themselves rather than having the dealer do it. And as for the FDL Code for Diameter / Thickness, it is irrelevant. VO Coding of DSC is all that is needed. Dealers are incapable of FDL Coding, so FDL Coding cannot be a requirement for retrofit.

You VO Coding it did no harm...but also did no good. You just redid what the dealer already did, thus it did not make a single coding change to DSC module.

Hi people,
I wanted to ask if I need the full version of psdzdata to code the Sport brakes? Because I have the little version and if I follow the procedure described on the 1.st post, I don't have then option "Activate Fa and Calculate FA, when I right clic FA on the "Editiors & Viewers"! Or I need to return back on Expert Mode Coding to activate and calculate the FA? A little help please? |

To add HO-Wort to FA, you need to Read FA, Save FA and then hit Edit. From here you should be able to Calculate FP. To Code car, you need to be in the Coding module, Activate FA, Righ-Click on DSC, and select Code.

on the 1.st post it's marked Calculate FA, and I got only Calculate FP!! And when we don't know if it is the same think, we need to ask before make a mistake! It's ok, the brakes are coded well!! Thanks to all... |

Sorry if I feel like a broken record, but has anyone tried to do the this coding on a car equipped with S2NH (M-Sport)?
As far as I understand all the parts are the same, save for the dimpled rotors and brake pads (which anyway should be better than m-performance: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-br...fferences.aspx) Also, for people who went from S2NH to SPBR, did they have to remove S2NH from the FA before adding the SPBR, or was it just a matter of adding SPBR?
