Hey everyone, I was able to finish the front PDC retrofit on my 2016 125i F20 LCI.
What I have to add here is that the problem I had was that the wiring diagram in the REM that is in the manual, and here in this topic were not correct for my car.
In this case, if it shows any error in the sensors, use ISTA to check the wiring diagram. It will be connected by your car's VIN and will indicate the correct connection pins.

In my car the front PDC was off by default. If I want it to work, I must engage reverse gear or press the PDC button to turn it on. Can anyone help me how do I leave it as default always on?

Hello,

Can anyone provide an OEM code for the REM that supports both front and rear pdc?

Thanks

My car is a 2015 F30 which only originally came with rear PDC. I retrofitted front PDC and all works fine (can see my front PDC wires cable tied to the bundle on the left plug) - my REM is part 9362395:

RealOEM doesn't seem to know what that part number is though. But can confirm it has all the pins.

Although I have a X1 my BDC_body (FEM + REM) is also not listed on realoem. What I found out is that if you open it in e-sys you can see different HWAP, these translastes to HW functions that your REM might have or not have

See https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/b...#post-13848793 for more background ifno.

Also I noticed that realoem sometimes say it is only restrospectively interchangable but have no problems using an older partno (this also applies to ECU) so instead it should have showed 'bilatterally exchangable' but that was not showing.

Did you check all the wires? Maybe there is an actual short circuit? You should be able to find it with a mulitimeter.
Also, which short circuit error? This might give you a hint where to start studying the wire diagram.

all that it tells me is short to circuit, I am sure its a wiring issue, what is the best way to connect PDC wires, I have the wiring diag and double checked everything and its all wired properly. What is the best way to wire these cables.

So no errorcode at all? That’s hard to believe.

I would check at the pins for continuity with multimeter and see if some pins have continuity with eachother that shouldn’t have it

Does anyone know how to depin the connector to the PDC wiring harness?

https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...ol-61138383300

I followed OPs wire placement but actually I think it’s wrong. Anyways, I’ve already run my wire but now the front is wrong. It could be remedied quite easily if I could depin that connector.

It’s a pain to depin that one but if I remember correctly you need to remove the pink/purple plastic first and then use the hole above the pins the push the tab of the pin flat and then pull.

Not possible to fix it on the REM side?

It would be possible, just a lot more work. I already laid the cable under the trim to the trunk and wired up to the REM. The issue is that the connector doesn’t fit through one of the holes i routed the wire through in the engine bay. If I can depin I can pull the wire back and route accordingly.

All working now! So what happened was I did feed the cable through starting at the engine bay working backwards on the vehicle, but I followed the cable routing of the OP which I believe incorrectly places the cable through a rubber grommet intended to secure an engine apron cover-

See here:

This rubber grommet is item 07 on this diagram https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_8661

In any case, I did manage to depin that connector. The tabs pointed to by these arrows actually pry outwards and you can slide the outer connector backwards onto the wire.

Afterwards I was able to route the cable around the strut.

I did run into another hang up, which I believe is specific to early F30 models. It was not possible for me to place the wire from the parking button connector to the ICM without removing my entire center console. The entire ICM Module was covered. Compare these two photos of someone else in this thread vs mine

Good you found out! Btw the blue black Cable looks damaged but seems like its only the isolation but might wanna double check before you put everything back.
