I don't know how the game will go it's England after all, whatever the result it won't be easy.
I'll go for a VAR penalty to go against us and for a few scant chances to go begging, cue the pundits back in the studio to talk about England's forwards needing to be clinical in front of goal....whilst Wrighty gibbers on about passion and pride.

As expected, moments of good play, chances that should have taken but didn't! Walker has been mostly negative and gave a stupid penalty! Never enjoyable watching them play

The VAR did us know favours then.......hopefully this will equal it self out later on in the competition.
A win is a win. Never easy. Some big teams have already had poor results before us to be fair. |

I went to the same senior school as Gazza and former international baldy Steve Stone. My junior school had that pratt that played for Liverpool... Don Hutchinson. What a tit. Anyway... Back to the game. England will get smashed off a better team if they play like that. Can't see Belgium being worried about anything on that showing. Disappointing but a win. |

I think Gareth Southgate also deserves a bit of credit for at least managing to foster a decent team spirit in the squad; you'd like to think that was a given but it hasn't always been the case with England over the last 20 years! |

JNW1 and Hooded.
I should be easily pleased being a Newcastle supporter, but I'm not! However I sincerely hope you are both right. The main positive of your points are ifs and buts along with a few shoulds. Against a better team, they will need to convert those shoulds into actuals and the ifs into reality. I don't think they can step to that level. I'd be critical of: Sterling.... More like tin plate Lingard.... Big Jessie Rashford.... Rash They have a great team spirit as half of them can't believe live they're playing for the national team. It's like milli vanilli being inducted into the rock n roll Hall of fame Go go Senegal!!! 1-0 up. |

As I say, I don't see England winning it or getting anywhere near to be honest. However, Tunisia had the reputation of a team that was quite difficult to break-down yet on another day we could have put 4 or 5 past them in the first half alone; yes disappointing we didn't take our chances but at least we were positive and created some! I agree Sterling and Lingard both had indifferent games and of the two it's Sterling who worries me most as even playing in a very good Man City team he missed a lot of chances last season (remember the howlers in what should have been the title decider against Man Utd?). I don't mind Rashford though and would certainly give him a chance to start instead of Sterling.... |
