We have grand stand tickets & car paking passes.I live in west sussex and silverstone is 110 miles from home. What time would you recommend setting off in the morning ??

Hi,

I'd be leaving fairly early - traffic management into Silverstone has improved over the years but still gets packed later on.

I'm actually staying down there this year. In previous years I have left at 5am and done the Chester - Silverstone drive ( about 120 miles ).

I've never had an issue with traffic going to Silverstone but always stay at a local hotel and arrive around 8-9am.

Thanks. I think I will head off just after 5am then.

I guess its always better to get there early than sit in traffic.

I just hope Hamilton wins (again)!

What grandstands are you guys in? We are in the Becketts. Hopefully this will be pretty decent view.

I'm in the Paddock Club guest of the Mercedes team

You can there early and have breakfast - loads of stuff to do in the F1 fanzine as well.

After the race don't leave straight away - go down to the Fanzone they have the drivers appearing on the stage afterwards.

It's a great event - will be a shame if this year is the last one!

I was there as a guest of AMG Petronas in 2017 now that is a great day the highlight is when they take you down into the pit garage with the head phones on watching/listening to it all unfold in front of you. You get really close to the action with access all areas.

Bottas getting ready to go out and the great man himself:

I did the Friday in 2016 - this year doing Factory tour on Friday and at the track Sat/Sun.

To say I'm excited isn't probably quite accurate enough

Longest of long shots...but...

I'll be in Toronto on Sunday of the GB GP....lights out 9:10am local....plenty of internet searches have come up with no options of watching it (I can't find out whether the hotel is showing it; it's on pay TV so I doubt it).

Anyone?

Bottas is a pretty terrible wingman.

Whenever there's a little hold up play requires … hmm yeah.

Sounds like Max has been at it again. He's a poor man's Michael Schumacher.

Very "Max"… right on the edge of what's allowable. Superb driving from Lewis. He did have the faster car, but the move itself was made several corners earlier, where he tricked Max to defend corner 1, which compromised him all through the next few corners and allowed Lewis to do such a clean overtake that Max just couldn't do anything about it.

Vintage Hamilton.

Redbull seem desperate?

Running off the track but more alarming Maxs comments about damage limitation weekend?

WHAT

MERCEDES had that grip maybe but not the championship leader, who incidentally didn't get 25 grid place penalties this weekend.

But yes, damage limitation for you Max 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣☺️

What is clear is just how good Lewis and Max are. They are so far ahead of their team mates, neither of which is a chump.

Arguably he should have had a 5 second penalty, especially after then being shown black and white flags for weaving. Effectively did something which has normally carried a penalty and got off scott free! Outstanding drive and aggression from Hamilton to scythe through the field as he did, effectively last +5 to first in 1 1/3 race distance.

Great drives by Hamilton this weekend in both the sprint race and the Grand Prix; Verstappen still leads the Championship but it's clear he's going to have fight all the way to take it from Lewis.

Not seen any footage showing a view of the inside of the cockpit of Max's car (so you can see his steering input) but from the outside it looked like he should have received a penalty for running Hamilton wide at turn 4; couldn't see much in the way of left lock being applied....

Great weekend from Hamilton showing why he is the GOAT.

Far too aggressive from Max again - running him and himself off the road to keep the place isn't acceptable.

Great title fight and season so far can't wait for Qatar in 7 days.

Ps holy thread resurrection!
