Plug nail in RFT?
So I picked up a nail in my OEM Continental RFT see pic:
It never lost pressure, and has not lost any air since I first noticed it a month ago. I am looking for some guidance as to whether or not I can plug this? Most everything online says RFTs are not repairable, however if the nail is in the tread like this and the tire was not driven on without pressure I don't see why I couldn't? |

I'd definitely pull that metal out, ream the hole and insert a plug drizzled in glue. I've had good luck with the $5 kit from harbor freight.
Unless the tire is on the rear AND doing burnouts, safe to say you'll get full life outta that tire with a plug and proper inflation. I do not believe it's close enough to sidewall to be an issue. |

I plugged this for a neighbor, and it had no issues for as long as he had it.
