S2NH 370MM Rotor Upgrade 2017 330XI
All,
I've read multiple threads, looked at Wiki's and still a bit confused. I have a 2017, 330XI Wagon with the S2NH M-Sport Brakes with the track handling package as well as the Blue M-Sport Brakes Front/Rear. My question is can I fit the 370MM Rotor upfront with the current caliper. I've read the Turner link and it isn't clear if I can use the 370MM front rotors. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-b...ke-Differences When reading the 335I wiki from Turner https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-b...ke-Differences For the 335i there are just two front rotor sizes - 340 or 370mm. The 340mm is the standard 335/435 disc size and also used in the US M Sport upgrade option for 2012-2013. The 328/428 also used this rotor in its own S2NHA M Sport brake upgrade and was offered with a dimpled/slotted face. This can be used on the 335/435 stock brakes for an appearance upgrade. The 370mm rotor was used on the M Performance accessory kit and in the later M Sport upgrade option. It's not clear to me if I can use the 370MM Front Rotors on the front of my 330XI Wagon with the Blue M-Performance Calipers. From what I've read, I believe the Red, Yellow, Blue can fit the optional 370MM Front rotor. If anyone can CONFIRM they have fit the 370MM front rotor on a 330XI with Blue M Brakes. These are the part numbers I'm looking at. Front: 34106797603 Rear: 34206797600

I believe your Blue Calipers will be stamped with 340 on the back side which would mean it will only work with 340mm rotors. For the 370mm, you will need the Blue (or Red/Yellow/Orange) calipers from an M3/M4 or an M performance 335/340.
It is possible to fit the 370mm on the 4 cylinder models as long as you have the right caliper for it. I believe multiple people on this forum have upgraded their brakes to M performance on the 328/330 cars. You might also have to do a bit of coding but it is possible.

Yes. If it's indeed the track handling package blue brakes. Bmw is very confused with all of these package names.
Stamp is the best way to confirm bit is also documented that the track handling package is 370/345. Another route is to just measure the diameter of your rotors.

Since you say you already have the blue M-sport calipers front (4-pot) and rear (2-pot), I guess you already have the 370mm rotors in front.
The 340mm rotors in front are combined with single-pot sliding rear calipers. Don't know about the actual BMW package names on your side of the pond, so I don't want to mess you up. But the simplest and easiest way to confirm the rotor diameter is to measure it. If I had to bet though, I wpould say it is 370. |

Its very simple... if you have 340 discs now... you cant fit 370 discs with these calipers... these 4 pots are then 340 only..
so no need to get a mirror and have a look etc... its plain simple... |

If they were very that would be definitive, but he has blue Brembos front and rear. The front can be 340 or 370. The rear are always 345 if they are painted Brembos.

I'll keep everyone posted as I get set to do the brakes once the parts arrive.
I just ordered the 340mm for the fronts as real oem with my vin showed that size. I'll keep everyone posted!

I guess probably due to the huge market in the US, there are sometimes some weird options on your side of the pond. |

Your car is easy because F3x 335i/435i/340i/440i only has two possibilities: 1) Standard Grey brakes which are Front 340mm and Rear 330mm. 2) M Sport Blue brakes which are F370/R345. So just asking Grey or Blue will pinpoint which brakes those cars have. But for other models it's really not worth going through descriptions and speculating. Each F3x brake caliper uses a unique rotor diameter. It's simple and easy to measure a car's front and rear rotor diameters in minutes right on the car. See photos. Hope this helps someone! |
