Removed Front Passenger Seat - Passenger Restraint System Malfunction
Hi everyone, I have a 2014 328i (F30, N20) and I recently removed the front passenger seat so I could clean under the seat and when I put the seat back in the Passenger Restraint System Malfunction light came on, is there any way to remove this? Did I mess something up? Thanks in advance for your help!

You probably did not disconnect the battery before you removed the seat. You will need to clear the fault memory using ISTA. You were locky that you did not blow the airbag

This is true, I don't remember disconnecting the battery beforehand, although that is something I usually always do for fear of the airbag deploying, but I'm sure I didn't this time. I own and operate an auto detailing business and there are times when we have to remove the seats from a client's vehicle, can't believe I forgot to do it on my own car. Thank you for your reply.

Get a fault reader that can clear/reset restraint-system errors. For example ISTA and BimmerLink app can do that
