Bro's, I want to have folding mirrors on f30 2012 320d efficients dynamics model. Is it possible, and if so what do i need?

There is a lot of info on here and dont fancy reading 700 pages

If you have power folding mirrors and can fold mirrors from driver's door button, then you can code then to fold from Comfort Access and Fob with E-Sys package.

FDL Coding requires a CAFD Mapping solution, so BimmerUtility would be needed.

Ok interesting, whats the difference between FDL coding and the other types of coding? Also the only way to obtain BimmerUtility is pay 100 usd right?

Yes.

For VO Coding you select the ECU itself, not the CAFD File.

VO = Vehicle Order

VO Code = Coding of all FDL's (100% of the ECU) to predetermined settings based on the Vehicle Order.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read (ECU) => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

FDL = Function Data Line

FDL Code = Coding of individual FDL's in an ECU, overriding the VO Coding.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read (ECU) => Right-Click on the ECU CAFD and select Read Coding Data => Expand the CAFD Folder by clicking + symbol => Right-Click on the CAFD file and select Edit <SvtCompareView.edit.fd.name> => Edit CAFD as desired => Click the Blue Floppy Disc Icon to Save CAFD => Click the green back arrow icon => Right-Click on the CAFD file => Select FDL CODE.

Yes, but what you can accomplish with VO Coding is extremely limited. Its more so for retrofitting new hardware than custom coding.

Okay so FDL Coding is what really matters.. Also I see people coding without the bimmerutility because the e-sys launcher provides cafd mapping?

I see, so apart the software, for FDL coding i need the BimmerUtility which is the best but, isn't there any cheaper or free options or you think that is what really i should buy and it is profitable in the long run if i want to code f30 car.

There is no Free FDL Coding solution any longer. It died with Launcher PRO 2.8.2 BFU expiration.

Old E-Sys versions require an .est Token for FDL Coding. E-Sys beginning with Version 3.34.0 no longer requires an .est Token.
