Question Bmw 335d 2014 xdrive engine oil yellow light

Hi guys, recently I bought bmw 335d 2014 xdrive and last week I changed all filters , engine oil (full service)
After service I drive the car maximum 40 miles.
Today I went to shopping and when I come back to home the car give me this error at the earliest opportunity, top up with 1 litre of engine oil/ engine oil at minimum. add 1 litre of engine oil.)
I bring the car home (10 minutes drive) I checked the oil in idrive sistem and show me oil at minimum.
I opened the bonnet and I checked but I can't see any leaks.
I topped up with 1 litre of engine oil but after 5 /10 minutes drive the light come on again .
So any idea what is wrong with this car?

Are you sure that correct amount of oil was used during the oil change? If you are sure about that then it is leaking dramatically from somewhere like the drain plug. If you check under the car is it completely dry? I don't mean the ground under the car, the car itself. Does 335d still have a dipstick as well? If yes, check that also.

I don't think there is a dipstick in the 35d. My 435d doesn't have one.

Check for oil leaks from the drain plug and from the oil filter housing. Also, remove the under tray cover for the drain plug and see if it is leaking.

I would imagine you have a leak or a broken sensor. Don't keep filling until you find the leak, because if it is a sensor you might end up overfilling.

How much oil did you add after the oil change?

What torque did you use on the filter housing and the drain plug? There is a chance you threaded the oil plug hole or worse cracked something. They make the bolt out of steel on an aluminium oil pan and when you over tighten you end up messing the pan instead of the plug.

Realoem is listing dipstick for 2014 335d but it is listing it also for 435d so maybe it depends on something. My 2015 B47 420d sure has one although many people think BMW has not had dipsticks for a long time

That is very weird, maybe something changed in 2015, due to the Euro 6. Not sure. I have looked around my engine bay and I can't see anything.

The OP should check though maybe he is lucky and he has one. That way he can eliminate the sensor problem.

My 35d has a dipstick. It’s hidden at the back of the engine bay. Standing in front of the car with the bonnet open, remove the plastic engine cover and it is on your right hand side at the rear of the engine. It just looks like a small black toggle which you pull up.
