Issue w/F36 fender liner after fog light delete. Have spent hours trying to fix this.
Hey ya'll!
I just had my front bumper repainted on the F36 M Sport I purchased last year since it came with some wicked road rash, and while the techs had the bumper off I decided to do a fog light delete. I purchased OEM fog light replacement grilles (51118056493 and 51118056494) thinking it would be a simple swap, but when I picked up the car today they said they couldn’t bolt the inner fender liner back in because it required the fog light housing to attach to (which was removed). I thought it would stay in place at least until I got home (that's some dingus thinking), but the right side fender lining flapped loose since it wasn't bolted in and got shredded. I've called three BMW dealers/parts departments with my issue today and they're all at a loss of how to retrofit the fender liner without the fog light housing. YouTube and this forum have been my saving grace in piecing together a couple potential solutions from this video and this thread: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1814162 So my plan is to purchase these: 1.) Fog light Bracket - Left (51118054579) or cut-down my fog light housing 2.) Fog light Bracket - Right (51118054580) or cut-down my fog light housing 3.) Front half of front fender liner - Left (51717260729, can someone verify this part is correct?) 4.) Custom cut rubber for the inner side of the grille (still unsure exactly where this goes...?) I've attached photos of the issue as well as all the parts that were removed that I can still use. Any and all help is appreciated before I go and blow money on the incorrect parts. Thank you so much! |

I done this the other day and just left the fog light housing in place, as you found out that if it's removed the arch liner doesn't have anywhere to bolt.
Could use a dremel and cut the original ones? |

Looks like you need the non-fog light m-sport bracket:

If you have anymore insight i’ll be happy to listen, i’ve just been deciding between getting the m4 style with fogs or without (i never use my fogs so im leaning more towards deleting) |

But I would go fogless but also get the kit that includes the lip. Kies Motorsports is a good starting place. |

I have an ‘16 F36 MSport THP that came without fog lights.
Looking in RealOEM, it lists my “no fog light” parts as RACE versions of the foglight grille parts. The RACE grille has no fog light holes, and the RACE “Fog Lamp Support” doesn’t have a support for a fog lamp. (lol). So I think that’s the part you need? Forgot to add, I’m pre-LCI, so I have ‘working’ Air Curtains in those corners that LCI doesn’t, and thus a different fender liner too. That detail might matter re: parts swapping.
