Wavy tail lights? Wtf. New 6 has them as well correct? So strange. Straight is more agressive IMO.

I swear bmw is trying too hard on some of these LCI's. Just give us LED's.

Looks like I'm holding off an ordering a 340i M-Sport now... And I guess I'm a sucker since I'll pay $1,900 for the Lighting Package
I just thought of something. So the 340i will have close to 360 HP. The new M2 is said to have 375hp. That's kinda close. One of these HP numbers are off. Cant see them making them so close.

No doubt at all. New isn't always better. I'd much rather have an e46 ZHP than an F30. I don't care it's slower or less luxury. It's all about that styling and the way it drives. The F30 is ugly as sin and drives like shit. The E46 is not only a styling icon but a driving dynamics masterpiece.

Not that I don't consume, spend or want, but I do often step back and just enjoy the things I currently have.

And not everyone cares to loose 10's of thousands of dollars every 3-5 years in depreciation. I see you have an active hybrid, I've been itching for an i3, but I only spend about $800 a year in fuel, lets just round that up to $1000. It doesn't make any sense to spend $55,500 on a new i3 to save $1000 a year in fuel. Until BMW makes something I can't live without, I'll just keep driving my old ZHP.

Not looking bad for almost 12 years old, since it is a face-lift I'd rather say the styling is 13 years old, not 17; still running and performing well with 17 year old technology. Last week a guy snapped his neck so hard to look at it that I hurt for him. Same day, someone in the passenger seat of a car load of people snapped a pic of it in the side mirror. I must be doing something right.

Different strokes for different folks indeed, but still, just enjoy your car, whatever it is!
If you change your mind on that i3 can I please buy your outdated ZHP?!

Yep. Already placed. And I need a 4 door ASAP for work. Oh well. I think I'll still be happy. I had and E92 with Xenons and I survived. I just can't step back to halogens. Yuck.

Not entirely sure, but the new Seven will be so larger BMW might want to go for 777.

Please understand that it is all relative. There are people that would call you silly and irresponsible for owning your car. But, you're an enthusiast, and don't care that you could probably save $1k+/year by driving a 2003 Civic instead. Similarly other people don't care that they could save $3k+/year by driving your 2003 ZHP.

Also recognize that you have the luxury of only needing to drive <5k miles per year (based on your stated gas expenses), which makes it a lot easier to run an older higher mileage car as your DD. The repairs and maintenance come a lot less frequently.

And yes there is a lot of irresponsible spending when it comes to cars. But there are also a lot of people who enjoy their new cars while simultaneously maxing out retirement, contributing generously to their taxable accounts, and paying down their mortgages. But I like all these people, because without them I'd have no car to buy used in 3-5 years.

Again with the number changing -- bmw has nothing better to do -- marketing to get more buyers every 7-8 years.

i remembed when i purchased my 2006 325i (330i was more 40HP) and then the next year they changed to 328i & 335i. Now they're doing 330i and 340i...zzzzzzzzzzz couldn't they just changed the engine alone.

I specifically like the last 1/2 of your last sentence. YES please lease up all the new models so in 3 years, I can buy CPO for much less.

I feel exactly the same way about my E39 vs a new F10 5 Series (although I don't dislike the F10 styling).

Yawn...

don't see any major changes other then lights. Engine hopefully is more exciting, but from what I have been reading is 40hp bump at most which is just about what you receive with the PPK.

My lease is up in 6/2016 and the new S4 will be out to so perfect timing to make a call if I decide not to spend the extra $20k for M3.

So basically I can turn in my 335hp 2013 335i with 6k miles in which I owe $30k for a 2016 with 340hp and new lights at a cost of $60k? Hmmm...

In regards, to LCI...
The 3 series had huge changes that I agree where well worth waiting for, but the M was barely anything, $1000 for a new trunk lid, lights, and paint and you were set. F80 will like be the same story, nothing a little retrofitting can't do. I wouldn't wait another year+ for the LCI unless I was already planning to wait.
The Dinan tune gave me close to 420 ft-lbs of torque - far more than the F8x stock, so I'd have more than 20-30 feet. With the new downpipe, I will be getting an additional 20 hp, making the total output at close to 400hp, and 450-460 ft-lbs (some estimates put it close to 500 ft-lbs). I'd LUV to take on a stock M3/M4 - especially with my new suspension tune!
Soon you'll realize that none of this matters. Owning a BMW isn't about driving in a straight line. Unless you retrofitted an F8x suspension, you're not quite there. If you want to go fast in a straight line there are better choices.

I'm more interested to see what changes they made on the LCI interior. I really like the looks of the F30 exterior but the interior is what makes me cringe(sorry just my opinion). The interior is one of the the things I absolutely love about my F10.
