Just wanted to show some pics of the custom wheel I got from Mike @ XPH

Wheel shipped within 2 wks of my order, shipping was quik, new wheel had excellent packaging with 3 different mat'l layers on the rim

Workmanship is excellent - very happy with the wheel I received

Thanx to Mike for offering up a hi quality custom wheel @ a decent price

While I had the wheel off, I decided to change up the new one a bit with new MMR Extended Paddles in Anthracite w/red logo, & AutoTecknic CF Trim

Heated is not an option with any of the wheels

Has anyone done a airbag conversion, so the non round pre-lci (or non m sport i think?) to the round that fits this wheel?

I am intrigued to change and if I could get an airbag off a wrecked F3x or F8x maybe.

would like to add that the heater is not a good option. If there were some way to connect it to the driver's heated seat, it would be better than using that switch under the steering column.

Furthermore, my M-sport steering wheel in our sedan came with the heating element in the wheel, but no button in the column; now BMW apparently has come up with a way to activate it via subscription?

Yes, many have done the non MSport wheel to the MSport (round airbag) steering wheel conversion

All you need to do is find a round MSport airbag that is guaranteed good working condition (or buy a new one to be safe) that is proper for your car

But of course you would need more than just the MSport airbag to complete - you would also need all the MSport specific wheel Trim & MSport specific Steering Wheel Buttons plus possibly MSport specific wheel Wiring Harness

I personally would trust all parts coming from scrapyard with exception of Airbag - which I would only use if purchased new

As usual, always big $$ to do any retrofit with BMW
