The only place I would trust ordering from if you want the full carbon hood would be RW. I have the suvneer GTS hood but it's aluminum, they don't offer a full carbon finish. Some people have had good experiences ordering carbon pieces from alibaba, but I'm not sure I would trust shipping something that big and delicate from China.

How's the fitment on your aluminum one? Would you get it again or recommend it?

Fitment is near perfect. Swapped it out for the stock one pretty easily, then took it to paint shop, didn't really try much to get the gaps perfect but when it came back from the paint shop the fitment was spot on from them adjusting it. I think its well worth the $850.

Hey there - I've never gotten parts painted before - is it standard practice to have the part already on the car when taking it to get it painted? I was wanting to get a GTS hood - I figured I'd have to get it painted prior to putting it on.

How much did painting cost you?

A lot of the cheaper GTS carbon hoods are fiber glass with a layer of carbon fabric laminated on top.

I took the gamble and bought mine for £700, obviously no way near as strong, but also it kind of helps out as I don't want hood pins and the fibreglass hood comes in a little heavier.

You can do either or, however paint shops will definitely charge you labor for putting it on, and may inflate the number of the labor to make some extra money. If you're talking about just dropping the hood off, keep in mind then they cannot blend the paint into the fenders. I paid $450 for them to blend the paint into the fenders and align the hood as best as they could, as well as paint the plastic vent that it came with gloss black.
