I flashed the bootmod3 Stage 1 91 octane earlier today. It's very noticeable! Smooth power across the band.

The max numbers on my gauges changed as well; the max hp number is 560, and the max tq is 400. That seems odd.

Why is the max gauge number for hp that high?

Just flashed the bm3 stg 1...fully stock car (440i xdrive manual) for the next week... But here is a 3rd gear (Mt) roll on... Definitely faster than stock.. Cant wait for the DP to arrive!

Had to stop video due to lack of hands... Hopefully someone can compare stock vs the stg 1 bootmod3

I'm very interested in how the cold start delete sounds like! If you have time, could you please post a video of it? It would be greatly appreciated!

I heard my buddies with catless dp and full exhaust.... It's scary quiet... Like you wonder if something is wrong with the car quiet....

The stg 2 AGG is raw... Blurbles are VERY noticeable with the windows down... In cabin not bad. But you can tweak all that in the tune.

Ah, that's right, you had a MP tune.

Are there ways in which the Stage 2 PTF tune is different than the Stage 2 MP?

No transmission tune required at stage 1? 430wtq I thought from hearing some other tuners recommendation the trans tune is needed to keep it smooth and not cut power? Or do Bootmod3 tunes include trans tune with engine tune?

Thank you both so much for taking the time to give me your insight on the cold start. I am serious need of this at my parking complex!

Eric, I saw your burble mode video and can't wait to try it out on my m240i. What are you currently running for your exhaust? Thanks again for posting!

Drove for the first time this morning and everything runs smooth. 2 more things i wasn't expecting:

1. Throttle maps are definitely modified. Comfort throttle is now somewhere between comfort and sport on the OEM tune. That's perfect for me since i found sport mode to be a little touchy when driving around town, expecially while trying to manage clutch engagement.

2. Another note for 6MT users: If you don't have revmatching in all gears, it enables it. Previously the car would only rev match when downshifting one gear at a time, but now it'll rev match if I skip gears as well.

3. I did the custom configuration stuff for burbles and noticed that it doesn't have an option for comfort mode. I also confirmed while driving that there were no burbles in comfort, which is just fine with me. I'm not into the overly aggressive gunshot sounds, so from that aspect the car sounds like it did with the OEM tune. I turned down sport mode some from the BM3 defaults so that sounds close to OEM sport setting as well.

Cold Start Delete with BM3. I have stock downpipe/midpipe and a muffler delete. It basically goes to 1k just to make sure it starts, then drops to idle.

For reference, this is what it used to sound like on stock tune.

New to this but interested!

I see you need an Enet cable plus a laptop to use flash but will the below items work if we wanted to use an adapter to fit a Amazon Fire tablet?

PTF: Is this something that can be a configurable choice? I'd prefer a linear throttle map in every mode (or at least in comfort, sport, and sport+), one thing I don't like about the stock tuning is the aggressive throttle map in sport+. (I don't know if it applies exactly to the B58, but by 'linear' I mean keep the throttle pedal %->load request mapping as linear as possible and the same between modes, not strictly linear pedal->throttle mapping)

This was actually an update on the BMW side, and PTF is probably using the latest BWM ECU software as their base. When I first got my car it rev matched in just about every instance it could theoretically do it. Then after the dealer applied an update to fix an issue, it behaved like yours did. I complained, and like 8 months later they had another update that partially restored the original behavior (probably the behavior you have now), but it still won't rev match when shifting out of neutral, which it originally did.

Noob question... There is an app available for iPhone/Android. Can that be used exclusively to do all the flashing (initial and updates) via WIFI/Bluetooth OBD plug?

Does BM3 have a transmission tune? How is this flash better than a piggyback like Active 8?

Biggest difference is how smooth it is. It feels like a stock car that is just faster. No choppy shifts ever and the power curve is very linear. Also due to the fueling limitations the tune is able to extra more power than the piggybacks currently before going for something like meth.

I keep reading that there is no real benefit adding a downpipe to the b58. Is that now not the case?

Is anyone else seeing odd sport gauges after flashing stage 1 91?

The people saying this don't have downpipes. It's night and day.

It's being said by other reputable tuning companies. I'm not talking about sound FYI, I'm interested in why it's needed for the higher stage map (no meth).
