Question Heads Up Display is Moving

Has anyone had an issue with the heads up display ( HUD ) moving when they're driving?
The HUD display will shift when I accelerate / decelerate at a quick pace.

Also, when I turn the car on the display is often not in the correct position and I have to restart the car to get the display to reset itself.
This is accompanied by a loud clicking noise.

It was looked at by a tech who said that there was an issue.
However, since someone previously had replaced the windshield with a non BMW HUD windshield the dealership wanted me to replace it before they would continue to assess the issue.

If anyone has experienced this or has some idea of how I can fix it I would appreciate your input.

A windshield will not cause those issues.

Either a short or a component going bad.

Since the HUD actually worked and was just in the wrong place the windshield issue came off as an excuse not to do the work rather then a valid concern.

I'm wondering if one of the mirrors is loose or the servomotor is going.

HI. Please let me know name of dealership so I can make sure I never go near them. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard, thinking your issues are due to the windshield being non HUD made. Sounds to me as if they are just too, lazy, or too stupid, or too greedy. I agree that it is most probably a short somewhere. Good luck

There are plenty of other BMW Dealers to go to in Mass.
