Back in a F31... Bought a 340i!

After a brief flirtation with Mercedes and 4 pot diesels, I persuaded my wife that we sell her C250d and we buy Grant_7 's very lovey 340i instead.

Swapped a lot of messages and pictures with Grant since he first mooted that he would be putting it up for sale, and this morning I went up to see it and finalise the purchase.

Not sure I've seen anyone who so fastidiously looks after his cars (except my dad maybe), with ceramic coating, interim oil changes, and looking better than half the demo cars I've seen at dealerships with less than a thousand miles on the clock.

Fully loaded, with MPPSK, and lowish miles, and a cost to change for us of a few thousand pounds it really was a no-brainer.

So the Tengocity fleet is now M4 competition, G20 330e, and F31 340i... apart from all being BMW, seems like a good variety!

We did a back to back in my M4 with the 340i and the difference in character is very clear. The M4 is a ballistic, angry sounding car, and I love it. But the 340i is cultured and mellifluous, rides a lot more smoothly, and will be a lovely car for hillwalking trips, drives up to Scotland, where a more rounded character is preferable.

Can't wait for collection next weekend!

I did another Palmersport a few months back and clicked with the Caterhams this time round. Had one of the quickest times on the slaloms and loved them on the track.

I did another Palmersport a few months back and clicked with the Caterhams this time round. Had one of the quickest times on the slaloms and loved them on the track.

I'm sure I have it somewhere. You were always good, my problem (along with skills) was it was a pretty full on session for a first track day. Those Caterham pedal boxes were scary AF with size 11 feet too.

All I'll say is it was better seeing you come back in the little ambulance car after your check out.

I was never that confident in the Caterhams, and it's still a car that I end up spinning in, but after doing a lot more karting this last year, they just feel like a bigger go kart and I'm much happier with it moving around.

Grant_7 has me talked in to a 420R with aero screen!

I sold that last April. Just wasn't going to get used much after I started using the M4 for track days.

Like most, very impressed with the B58s ability to get well in to the 30s mpg on a quick motorway cruise!
