Sway Bar/subframe?? Pulling to Right on acceleration, clunking
Let me know what you guys think!
2018 F36 9000 miles, xdrive 440. On low speed I am getting what sounds like sway bar clunking... On the highway during any acceleration car will pull to the right. Under no acceleration it feels like it's super windy outside when it's not...feels like car is floating all over the place. Cornering feels very funny even at low speeds as well. Definitely not alignment as car drives straight under no acceleration. Thank you in advance!! Also winter tires all have equal tread, and properly balanced. No vibration felt at all. |

Few questions ...
- Is your vehicle is under warranty? Should be ... - Any modifications? - Does the vehicle have M Adaptive suspension? - What tires? Brand / model / size? The floating symptoms are normal (as normal as one perceives ...) for xDrive vehicle since it has base suspension. M Adaptive shocks will reduce these symptoms. If the problem symptoms can be easily replicated and the vehicle is still under warranty, making an appointment with the dealer would be the next step. |

Hey man thanks for replying!
Yes, still under warranty. Headed in next week. Only mods are M performance power and exhaust, and yes it's on M adaptive. Tires are snow tires 245/40/18 blizzak ws80(all inflated to 32 in the front, 36 in the back. ) Have about 1000 miles on them. I think the concerns with the floating suspension is more so the fact that it doesn't feel stable at speeds anove 35mph... Literally feels like the wind is blowing you left to right. Definitely different from even a couple weeks ago. Car use to feel planted all the way up to 85mph no problem. Even with the snow tires it felt fine recently. Seems like the symptoms are much worse with cold weather... Thanks again for the replies! |

No worries. Glad to help.
The only hypothesis that could be remotely likely: the adaptive shocks experienced internal failure and cannot stop spring oscillation, leading to floating symptoms. However, this is so remote ... These symptoms are very unusual. Please update the thread after visiting the dealer. |
