Clear Bra Help

Looking to buy some paint protection for the front of the car and side areas behind the fenders before I install spacers. Any suggestions on the best/most cost effective clear protective paint film and where to purchase?

If you are looking to have someone do it, check out Brian at SpeedFreak in Sterling, VA. I think his shop is called American Shine now. He's on the web. His shop does great work.

I'm going to install it myself, clear film isn't the hardest thing to get right if you take your time and I like the project of doing it myself. I just want to know what specific paint protector forum members would recommend for their vehicles so I can purchase the best bang for the buck.

I have Xpel on mine and I like it.

Didn't do a lot of research because all the shops in my area have only it.

tobefair,

You're on the right track wanting to protect those areas as they're one of the high impact areas for your car. If you haven't seen it yet, check out our newest film, ULTIMATE PLUS. It's the clearest and most durable film on the market. Watch this video to see some of the rigorous tests we put the film through, including driving it into a pole, and lighting it on fire.

XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS Video

Other common areas include the full front end and entire rocker panel sections as these are high impact areas as well.

For help finding an installer, visit Locator.XPEL.com. Be sure to narrow your search down to 2-3 installers and then ask to see examples of their work first hand. Not only will this let you gauge their workmanship, but also their customer service.

Hope this info helps, let us know if we can answer any other questions or help in any way.

Is there a way to buy the bumper and hood pre-cut and install myself?

Absolutely, we do sell the pre-cut kits on our website XPEL.com. However, we highly recommend having it installed by a Certified XPEL Installer as it can be extremely difficult to install correctly.

How much should we expect to pay to get a front bumper wrapped including material?

For just the front bumper with labor included I would say $550 - 650 or so depending on front splitters, labor rates, etc. But I wouldn't stop there, protect the headlights, side mirrors, and ideally the rest of the front end for high impact area protection.

Go to InvisibleMask.com. I just wrapped my f32 428 and my friends m5. They both look great and I did the, for around 350 each for the whole front end! I used Suntek film it was fairly easy to install.

Xpel is good however the thickness makes it very hard to install for those who never installed before. I agree with Astone22 with the suntek. Thinner but way easier to work with.

if you get precut u can ask them to add extra few cm so you can do a wrap around the edge for cleaner look.

That bumper pre cut kit is a third of the price if Xpel - what do you lose in terms of quality besides thickness?
