No. You can use a Single 32 GB USB Drive for the 3 USB version with minimal file manipulation, so I don't see what the need for it is.

Assuming extraction has 3 folders, USB 1, USB 2, and USB 3.

Copy only the config.nfm file and pkgd folder from USB 1 to USB Drive.

Then copy entire USB 2 and USB 3 folders to same drive.

After installing part 1, delete the pkgdb folder from the root and move the pkgdb folder from USB 2 folder to the root and install part 2. After installing part 2, delete the pkgdb folder from the root and move the pkgdb folder from USB 3 folder to the root and install part 3.

Shawn. Brand new member here. Just upgraded from an e90 to a 2015 335i CPO. E90 was disc based so brand new to this system. Would you be kind enough to share the update and any pointers for performing the update? Thanks in advance!

What about config file? Don't I need to move it as well from USB 2 and 3 to the root when installing part 2 and 3, respectively?

Anyone getting an error while unpacking BMW Road Map Europe Europe PREMIUM WEST 2016-1.7z ? It unpacks but while updating USB3 isnt being accepted by the car...

Not needed. This file is identical for all 3 parts.

No. Newer cars have completely different hardware, NBT Head Unit instead of CIC Head Unit. NBT runs NEXT Map and has option 6AM Real-Time Traffic Information (RTTI) whereas CIC runs PREMIUM Map and has 6UH Traffic Information.

I'm new to the forum and have just become the proud owner of a 2012 320D with Pro Nav. It came installed with the Europe Premium 2013 map pack and it would be great to update that if you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction.

Are you sure about that, Shawn? My 2012 F30 has the older CIC Pro system using Premium maps and displays "RTTI" on the iDrive screen, on rare occasions falling back to displaying "TMC". Most of the time it is amazingly accurate and up to the minute as well. Or is this a difference between UK and USA vehicles?

Yes, but these are BMW AG's general descriptions, not mine as follows.

S6UHA Traffic Information
S6AMA Real-Time Traffic Information

6UH in CIC is RTTI (Real-Time Traffic Information)
6AM in is ARTTI (Advanced Real-Time Traffic Information)

They are two different systems.
