Help Tire size

Can anybody shoot me some info on what tire size I should get.
I bought a staggered set of 19x9.5 +35 for the rear and 19x8.5 +35 for the front. Any recommendations. I am putting on my f30 msport.

The 235/40/19 and 265/35/19 has suited a lot of f30's well.

I am also looking at buying tires soon, same 8.5 and 9.5 wheel sizes but +40 rear offset. I was hoping to go 235/40 and 265/35 that so many have chose, but the Michelin A/S3+ I was wanting isn't offered in that size. You have to go up to 245/40 and 275/35 which is a bit larger than stock diameter unless you go down a profile which makes it smaller than stock diameter. Not sure how well those would fit.

I run 245/275 on my aftermarket wheels. While it technically says it's smaller than stock, i can't tell a difference visually. This is before and after. I think the lower offset actually makes it look like it fills up the wheel well even better and compensates for the smaller diameter.

But that's with an ET40 rear. With ET35 OP should probably go down to a 265.

You are running 18" though correct?

The OP was discussing 19", as am I. So instead of smaller diameters, it's actually larger than stock specs. If the OP went with 265/35R19 that is .3" than stock and a 275/35R19 is .6" bigger than stock rolling diameter.

I am in a similar dilemma trying to decide on tire size whether I want to stretch 225's on the 8.5" and 255 on the 9.5" or go 245/275. 235 is not an option for the front in the tire I want. Since my rear is ET40 I might be able to pull off the 275 like you did. if I had ET35 I'd definitely go with the smaller size to prevent the chance of rubbing or too much poke.

So you go to a smaller aspect ratio. 275/30/19. As shown in my pics, I went down from 255/40 to 275/35 and I can't see the difference.

I can't go down the aspect ratio due to xDrive. 245/35 and 275/30 have too much difference front to back (1.2%). 40 and 35 aspects are .4% which work fine. I also don't want to lose too much sidewall for ride comfort, you know how the roads are around here, especially after few snows. I might just slightly stretch the 225/40 on the front 8.5" and 255/35 on the rear and be done with it.

My recommendation
245/35/19 = 25.8" diameter; 3.4" sidewall
275/30/19 = 25.6" diameter; 3.3" sidewall
0.8% difference in diameter

Stock
225/40/19 = 26.1" diameter;3.55" sidewall
255/35/19 = 26.0" diameter;3.5" sidewall
0.4% difference in diameter

So at most, you're giving up .2" of sidewall (5%) and .4" of diameter. It also maintains the 1% delta front and rear. You can also go up in size, which basically adds an inch to the diameter and 0.5" to the sidewall. Again, the delta front/rear is fine for xdrive.

I'm not a fan of stretching tires so that's your choice if you do so, but there are plenty of options for proper width tires at those offsets. Go up or down in diameter, up to you based on your suspension setup and tire choices from your preferred brand. I'm pretty low on coilovers so I knew I could compensate for different diameters, but was pleasantly surprised when I didn't have to touch a thing.

I'm showing 25.75" and 25.5" diameters respectively when checking a couple tire calcs. Which is right on the 1%. Bit too close for comfort for me personally. One calculator shows 1.2% difference since it rounds to 25.8 instead of 25.75.

Ultimately I just wish all seasons tires would come in 235/40 and 265/35. Tire Rack shows only 10 tires that come in that size combo and its 7 summers, 1 winter, 2 track. Conveniently Michelin PS4S tires come in that size and it's becoming very tempting since I know they are a good summer tire, but I don't want to have two sets of wheels/tires for the limited amount deep snow we get.

advice on 20" Msport staggered fittment

I'm also looking for some tire size advice. Just bought a 2016 xdrive 335d touring with 20" staggered MSport alloys with the factory Pzero Tires which are not very pot hole friendly. I've decided on a set of PS4 tires and will also be fitting lowering springs.

What would be the ideal staggered tires sizes in your opinion?

if your wheels are 20x8 and 20x8.5, 255 is the widest on 8.5. staggered choices for your x-drive are...

stock size of 255/30/20 rear, 225/35/20 front

255/30/20 rear, 245/30/20 front. with 245/30/20 up front, although the sidewall is slightly shorter, it is slightly oversized in width so you'll have 5mm of lateral rubber protection at the rim edge.

square possibilities are

235/35/20 square (26.5")

245/35/20 square, 26.8", very close to touching spring perch. Although Vitoco F31 worked out, if you're lowering i wouldn't risk it. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...54&postcount=1
