Idk if this is a silly question or not but I’m not fully versed on CarPlay, but does the new CarPlay require vehicle software update or is the software update solely with the phone?

It was tested by some of the members to confirm it is working fine without an update required on the vehicle.

Well yes and no, while iOS 13 will display the updated CarPlay and features on CarPlay compatible units, at least for 8.8" ENTRYNAV units you're stuck with the right 1/3 of the screen saying "CarPlay" instead of being able to let CarPlay run full screen, and if you do use Carplay Fullscreen in bimmercode it just stretches the existing CarPlay instead of letting it properly add the increased space to its "desktop"

I have NVTevo_H, can that be upgraded in just software to N or later, or is this a hardware change?
Also, if you don't have a touch screen, I assume the controller ont eh console is used. Can this do everything the touch screen can do? |
