Amplifier replacement
Amp question. I'm looking to upgrade my amp. I have already upgraded all speaker including the subs to bavsound. What amp is better? Bimmertech or match up 7? Any input is appreciated!

The Match 7BMW provides high lever DSP, much better than the DSP in the Harman Kardon amplifier. Note: IMO upgrade the amplifier before upgrading speakers to see if speaker upgrades are even needed. Audio shops always badmouth stock speakers and push swapping them out because they want to sell speakers. Many don't want to sell just amplifier upgrades because they make more on speakers. When guys upgrade their amps first they often don't see a need to upgrade speakers. The exception with BMW speakers are the underseat subwoofers which benefit greatly from an upgrade to Earthquake SWS-8Xi (2-ohm) subwoofers which sound great in the tiny underseat BMW cabinets |

If so the Match amplifier for your car is called the Match Up 7BMW. It is designed as a complete plug and play swap out of your stock amplifier in the left alcove in the trunk. See link. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-ASigE9...H-UP-7BMW.html There is also a model called the Match Up 7DSP which upgrades the BMW lowest end audio system found in Europe and elsewhere in the world. That also mounts in that trunk location. But there is no stock amplifier there to replace. So two Match cables are also needed to connect it from the trunk to the audio system behind the dash. Those cables make it plug and play but it is an extra step. (Very easy to pop up BMW interior trim to run the wires along existing car wiring) Hope this helps! |
