Inside the Vorsteiner Design Studio: Upcoming Aero for the F32 4-series M-Sport

Inside the Vorsteiner Design Studio: Production of the upcoming aero components for the BMW F32 4-series M-Sport

Precision Sport Industries is proud to present the Bimmerpost community with exclusive behind-the-scenes photos in the Vorsteiner Design Studio!

A couple months ago, Vorsteiner had informed us they would be designing and manufacturing a carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser and deck lid spoiler for the BMW 4-series M-Sport. The first step for their team was to map the external front and rear end using a 3D laser head scanner with blue light technology. With this digital blueprint stored, the visual translation could begin from their creative illustrations, resulting in a digital three-dimensional outline.

Vorsteiner is currently spending countless hours adjusting and tweaking their prototype to ensure the front spoiler and rear diffuser not only is a perfect fit, but flows with the existing sharp lines of the F32. Only after their entire team is completely satisfied with the result, the initial draft pieces will be milled on a CNC rapid prototype machine and test fitted on the vehicle.

We’ll continue to update you with behind-the-scenes photos of the production of the Vorsteiner front lip and rear diffuser for the F32 M-Sport as we receive them. The next steps we will be sharing will be the 3D renderings, and finally actual finished product photos.

Vorsteiner informed us that the first prototype is scheduled following Bimmerfest 2014!

Stay tuned for more Vorsteiner updates.

I have to say Vorsteiner usually does an amazing job, but at this point I think the carbon fiber M Performance Aero Lip looks better. Just an opinion, hope they step up their game.

I have to agree. This really looks like an add-on and not integrated in any way like most other lips.

I was thinking the same thing. Just looks like an add on. Maybe if they eliminated the "fins" in the center and just molded that to the bumper lines...

Hoping they take all this feedback and change it up a bit. I think that if they design stays Il grab an aero lip.

Agreed! Not feeling it. Hopefully they listen. They should have a focus group with a few options to choose from. Love the factory carbon fiber but just too pricey.

This is only first initial rendering, not the finalized product.

Vorsteiner will take this rendering and have a CNC prototype milled and installed on the vehicle and they'll continue to make adjustments when they see it physically on the vehicle to the height, length, leading edges, and etc.

All the Vorsteiner aero pieces that we all love were rendered first, then milled, installed, tweaked, and tweaked again.

Here are more photos! Vorsteiner is taking your comments and feedback into consideration, and are implementing some minor changes in their design update. Stay tuned for further development!

pretty sure most people just want this, but adapted to the F32 bumper.

+1. I like the F30 lip design...but this F32 lip needs a lot of work IMO.

I would love something that just goes underneath the M-Sport bumper and does not wrap up the front. More of a splitter than a spoiler. Front end is already pretty low as it is.

I must be in the minority because the initial rendering looks a thousand times better than m-perf lip to me. Hot!

What software are you using to design the parts?
