340 Xdrive being modified into a Ringtool

Hello everyone, I've not been active on here in quite a while but I'd just like to make this thread to update my progress on turning my 2016 340 Xdrive into a Ringtool. By Ringtool I mean Nurburgring . I moved from the US to Germany so my modlist is originally set up for street racing. Now that I'm in Germany I get to have legal fun and get into a new passion.

I've already done a good amount of laps with my current set up and even paid for an instructed lap with Misha from Apex. If you all have any questions on what route to go as far as modifications I believe I can be of some help!

Mod List :

Engine/Trans: Dorch Stg 2 HPFP, Custom Remap, XHP Stg 3, MST Intake

Wheel/Tire: Apex SM10 wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 (poor track tire), 245/40/18 - 275/35/18 , stock camber

Suspension: Eibach pro kit, Weichers Strut Brace, Weichers Cage

Weight reduction: Back seat to trunk is 85% gutted, Sparco QRT-R seats

Brakes: M Performance

Planned Mods:

Engine: Charge Pipe + Distilled Water Injection for cooling

Wheel/tire: Nankang AR-1

Suspension: 3 way adjustable (Custom Racetec will be doing alignment)

Weight Reduction: thinking on 100% removing sound deadening because in Europe I have access to places that make professional floor panels

Brakes: Pagid RSL29

I think you are definitely on a really good start. Definitely on the instructor side as well as I watch a lot of Mishas videos.

Also glad to see thay the mperformance brakes with some good pads are enough for the ring.

What hood is that?

I ordered the bonnet from a local shop called Diederichs on eBay Kleinanzeigen for 410€. It received it primed and got it color matched.

M performance brakes faded towards the end of each lap so I was only able to do 1 lap at time. I also didn't have high temp fluid but like I said I wanted to take the car on the current set up just to see how much improvement the new mods make.

Very nice project! I'm just curious, because I am also looking to buy those seats. Do you think there'd be a possibility to mount the original 3 point harness? Would it fit through the harness hole? I guess it won't, because it is too big?
I want to keep the 3P - just because for driving on the street it's much more safe!

Yes it is possible ! You will need some additional hardware for the buckle and receptacle. Im not sure what people are using but the F80 guys on the forums here have done it.

Here it is. It's out of of stock unfortunately unless you are able to find it somewhere else.

Sorry for the lack of posts I've had issues with the engine lately. Got a compression test and cylinder 6 was 1 bar lower than 1-5. So this might have been the culprit 🥲

They are one way with a reservoir, but need a bit of shaving to fit in the rear. The reservoirs contact the shock mount. They didn't warn me first, or didn't know about that issue, so take that with a grain of salt. Other than that I have liked them so far for daily driving. Haven't had the chance to track them yet.

I do see that they are building a 3way version now, but for Miatas to start. Shouldn't be a difficult ask for them to update the F3x product.

Man that sucks I'm sorry to hear that. Ive contacted so many companies on 2 or 3 way coilovers and the replies i got were simply, "coming soon", or "not enough demand", so i just settled for BC Racing.
