MAF sensor error with engine warning light. (335d).

Hi. Been browsing here a while and have used a few guides but didn't register until today. Have a bit of a dilemma.

I have a 2015 335d... I got a warning light and have torque pro, bimmerlink and bimmercode.

Torque pro shows p0101 which is a maf sensor error and here's what I think bimmerlink is saying. I have attached a picture. Which I hope shows...

The car does have a upgraded intercooler and celtic map.. if that makes any difference. Any idea where to start? Thanks.

Forgot to add. When I clear the error. It comes back more or less as soon as I start the car. I have also tried cleaning the MAF sensor with MAF electronic contact cleaner.

Also the car is on 59k miles forgot to add that...

Also I don't notice much if any degradation in performance. Its pretty rubbish weather here at the moment tho so I havnt pushed it...

Does this sound like an egr issue to you guys? I have checked around it a little and can't see any soot escaping from cracks or anything obvious on the cooler part but the actual egr valve itself I am unsure if you can just take off and clean.

Replaced the MAF this morning, instead of air mass too small i got air mass too high (same error as a boost leak would be).

Reset the error using bimmerlink, it came back on right away next engine start. I then took the battery off for 15 mins (negative black terminal) after i cleared the error again, drove the car for 15 miles since and scanned the car after 2-3 restarts and it hasnt shown again, i still have the glow plug error showing though but obviously this doesnt throw a warning light on the dash.

I also cleaned the EGR valve (and verified it wasnt sticking) it was sooty but not that bad really. I will be attempting a throttle body and intake clean as soon ass weather picks up.

I had a similar issue on my E90 with the N57.
