Need more backstory to this as already mentioned. Did the current owner steal the parts or buy w/o knowing? The for-mentioned two M3’s that were stolen I’m sure insurance paid out to the owners.

Am I missing something here as to why this M3 was considered ‘dangerous’?

It wasn't exactly dangerous, looked like a thorough conversion. Law enforcement will call it dangerous though, to discourage theft of cars and chopping for parts. Justifies their actions.

The fact that when you run the reg plate it come back as a 320d that’s a sure fire way to tip off the cops 🚓 that something is suspicious.

Having had 2 cars nicked and 1 found gutted I can fully support them doing this.
