The AA is a GESI cat and its 400. https://store.activeautowerke.com/pr...atted-downpipe

Also, im pretty sure stock is WAY higher than 300 per section (meaning before and after the 2nd O2). I dont have a source onhand, but you can see when you compare it side by side with any other aftermarket one as i did with my fabspeed.

I doubt there is any measureable difference, especially for a stock turbo application. It's not only about the density, but also the overall diameter of the cat housing, length, etc.

I have similar Q to the above. I’m n55 EWG Xdrive (435iX GC), and I don’t see either the AA or Fabspeed ‘no CEL’ DPs being available for my car? So N55 Xdrive has no great catted DP option?

Both will fit. Xdrive doesn't effect the fitment. I have the Fabspeed downpipe and it fits fine.

Great, thanks!

It’s just very odd that neither mentions Xdrive when they list all the compatible models for these DPs, and in fact remove the DP as an available part when you do specify you have an Xdrive…

The way the downpipe sits with xdrive vs without, is no difference so I think that is why there is no mention of it.

thanks guys I ended up pulling the trigger on the AA DP because of the EPA Certified factor plus fabspeed's price difference now lets just hope I pass CT emissions (visual and OBDII inspection).

AA fitment for EWG is pretty poor. Could only use one of the brackets, and even that was spotty. Turned what should have been a simple install into a profanity laced ordeal :/.

surprised to hear as we sold hundred of AA EWG downpipes and I have one on my own 335.

I'm going with defective product

I tried every which way, several times, and could not get the bracket posts to line up and get the flange to be flat against the turbo. I was hoping removing one bracket would do the trick, but it still wouldn't line up properly without loosening the bracket as much as possible.

I have to pull it all out again now since it never did seat properly, and is leaking.

I consider myself fairly mechanically inclined - 4 or 5 downpipes on my other cars - including 2 other N55's, turbo swaps, heads, cams, engine swaps, etc - so pretty sure it wasn't a bad install..... :P

Nah. I may do that when I go back in to try to fix the leak. It would be hard to capture the issues with pics in those tight spots. Basically, it was impossible to get the tabs from the DP behind the brackets they bolt onto without bending (or removing) those brackets. I may try and skip those mounting brackets altogether on round 2.

I expected some trouble, as I did find several other complaints about this same issue during my research. Not a lot of those mind you, but there were some out there that gave me pause. The no CEL guarantee was enough to go for it anyway. I'm easily hitting 2 more PSI now with the stage 2 tune and DP, so performance is excellent.
