Anyone know why I get a message STOP flashing on my reverse camera? Not sure why just wondered if anyone had a clue. It's not a huge deal just a bit annoying.

Finally I know how to fix the distorted sound. You have to reduce the media volume in the settings menu as shown in the picture. My volume was set to max. And the aux volume for oem-side behaved strange (it did not affect the sound volume) until I found this setting.

So here's a silly question. When the car information is displayed, I see that it's in SI units. Any idea how I change this to SAE (F, MPH, gallons)??

Looks like I got a different reverse camera model than you. Because my video cable is different.

I wired it up like my drawing and camera is working fine:

thanks Wacky I was going by your suggestion and currently GND cable is in boot lining, Im I have routed cable so I just need to install Head unit to be able to tell wheter GND is required or not (hopefully not! )

Ok, how does your video cable look like? Like steve's or like my drawing?

Seems Louie sent out two different camera models.

I wired mine up the same as your diagram so perhaps I explained it badly. Yours also has that annoying stop message flashing which is coming from the video feed itself so I guess we're stuck with that. Also, how is your DAB signal? Mine seems worse than before installation and I'm wondering if it's the camera causing it. I might unplug it and see how it goes for a while.

No second yellow video plug, no red plug...

Yes, STOP message is flashing all the time.

I didn't test DAB after camera install, will do it today or at weekend.

Oh I see strange. Well camera works fine so it'll do. I've also narrowed it down and don't believe the camera is at fault. So, I put the android unit into aeroplane mode as it's giving off radio signals obviously and it's solved the problem I think. Dab has been fine so far touch wood.

Are you using an OEM DAB antenna or one that came with the module? I messed up installing mine, didn't ground the copper part to body work so it doesn't work too well when travelling.

This is for the OEM DAB antenna. I have not got the aftermarket one sorry.

How did you connect it to the module? Have you used a splitter?
Can you also tell me when you minimize the DAB app and use the navi, if the sound stutters? I know it does with the zou_whatever app but I know you use the other german app.

It's used on my iDrive system, separate to the android system so no wiring or modifications were needed and I use the bmw's navigation and with DAB sounds fine. The sound on android also sounds perfectly fine at maximum audio with the AUX.

I dont understand.
You use bmw navi and DAB but also the additional DAB from Ugode right?
I am going to install a DAB splitter to be able to have DAB from BMW and an external module connected to my Ugode. I think I am the first that does this

I use BMW Navi and BMW DAB. I don't have any additional DAB or splitters.

Waze navi is so much better

For that I want to have an additional DAB for the Android side with a splitted antenna

Awesome. I find the bmw one satisfactory enough. My partner usually opens Google maps quickly and checks the traffic too so that helps.

I find where I live in the UK DAB is non existent. It's awful so it usually is FM radio. Therefore I did not get a dab box because it would sit there 75% of the time cutting in and out or with no signal. I'd rather use my radio and split screen with nav on iDrive

I just installed a radio app and Spotify to the unit so I can use my internet for radio stations. I'll try to install Netflix on there soon

how did you guys get sound of android unit? do you need to connect rca coming from audio cables to aux in ? I didnt have any optical cables to switch over

Just installed unit (did it really carefully)

however it only displays "no signal" and oem side os working fine.

what should i do now?
I think cable is connected properly as I have sound on my oem system. (took green and black optic cables from the original harness and put it into new harness)

Radio works fine too.

It seems like android unit is not booting up at all.

Please help!

Another question!

My unit booted up after I waited 20 mins with ignition off.

I changed some settings and I wanted to download Waze from playstore.

But it says "this device is not compatible with app version".

How did you guys install Waze to the unit?

Did you download apk file from the internet and put it into sd card slot to install it?
