Worth the wait?

First time f30 poster. Spend most of my days on the F15 forums. This post is aimed more toward the X drive owners.

I'm in the market for an f30. Have been searching for 'the car' a few months now

I didn't think my criteria would be so hard to meet but here I am asking for advice.

I'm after either a 15' 335 or 16' 340
And the few musts are it be
- Alpine white on black.. or just not coral red
- M sport
- premium package as I had an x1 loaner with the hifi stereo and it was just awful. I need the HK. as well as comfort access, etc.
- M performance, for the M adaptive suspension.

I'm in Canada so the standard x drive suspension is different than those M sport RWD examples.

My dilemma is I've found a few 335/340 but they either have the M performance
and no premium package or Vice Versa.

I've read pretty negative reviews regarding the standard 335 x drive suspension. From what I understand the suspension had been refreshed in the 340.
Will I still be terribly disappointed with the standard x drive suspension in the 340 or has the floaty-loose feeling been corrected at all? I do not want to run coil overs as I most who opt for the standard suspension do.

My x5 and brother in-laws MPE 335 have the m adaptive and it's a great system.

Also would it be logical to buy a Mppk 335i with all the m performance bits over a stock 340i? Or is a no brainer, take the newer 340 regardless. Granted one has the M adaptive.

I know I will add the cosmetics bits later but when I look at prices I'm in the same bubble for both cars.

Just curious to see what some experienced f30 owners have to say. Is it worth the wait for the M adaptive?

Cheers.

Just gotta keep looking, if you gotta fly someone to pick up your car then that's all good. I was luck to find my fully optioned out 435i xdrive in Chicago. Best of luck, I would recommend the 340i. Those b58's have so much tuning potential.

no, xdrive suspension is horrible no matter what. if you know how a (non boat) BMW should handle you'll be going aftermarket anyways

I'm ok with travelling, my searches have been Canada wide. Although I'm into $2000 or more to ship a car back from the west coast, the 3000km drive would be a bit too much.
I would just prefer in Canada, I'm not sure how to approach importing from the US, never mind our dollar is crap

I live north of Toronto and flew to Quebec to buy my x5, and drove it the 750km home. By far the best test drive I've had.

I don’t want to rehash the RWD vs xDrive debate but for those who decide xDrive is best for them at least get the adaptive suspension, not perfect but it does help. I considered coil overs but in the end found I can live with xDrive suspension. I do run Pilot super sports summer and WS 80’s in the winter, helps with handling in the summer and while winter handling sucks traction is great. I would absolutely recommend the 340 over the 335, both great cars but ... B58!

I also recommend 340 over 335 because of B58 engine. It's simply a great power plant.

About M Adaptive suspension ...

- If the vehicle has every other option including xDrive, M Adaptive suspension is not a deal breaker
- Coilovers such as KW Street Comfort can vastly improve suspension behavior at a reasonable price (about $1600 USD)
- M Adaptive shocks are more expensive to replace

If you want adaptive suspension, wait for a car that has it. I believe HK is standard on 335 and 340.

If you prefer xenon lights or n55 engine go preLCI. Any other consideration is LCI in my opinion.
