Best cleaner for interior plastics?
I dont clean my car interior very often but need to start keeping it cleaner. What is the best cleaner to use to wipe down all the interior plastics? like dashboard and glovebox etc? i do have some white on the interior if that makes a difference

It's not marketed as such but this works very well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

There are many options on the market, but it heavily depends on what you call "cleaner"? Do you mean conditioner (which most products are) or are we talking cleaning small kids' food, oily fingers, smeared shit, etc.?
Can't help with the latter, but as a conditioner, I love the Lexol Vinylex. Unfortunately it seems like it has been discontinued. When selecting a conditioner, pay special attention to how much shine the different products give, according to your taste. Detailers, myself included, typically prefer less to no- shine products.

![]() I just bought Mother VLR and it seems to require quick wipe-off or else it can leave white stuff on black trims. |

Good question. Still have a bottle of Vinylex so haven‘t had to deal with it yet… 🤔

I also read that 303 aerospace protectant and griot rubber cleaner and griot rubber + vinylex dressing are good, what do the forum members think of these products?
One good thing about vinylex is that it doesn't streak on exterior application, and I read 303 does streak on exterior trims, how about griot rubber + vinyl dressing? |

I distribute chemicals for detailing and once you learn more about the chemicals, you will understand that we have an insane amount of options as a consumer which only causes confusion to everything. I will try to simplify best.
1. I am a fan of cleaners and "protectors" to be separate. 2. All leather is coated, thus the conditioner portion of it almost becomes irrelevant. 3. Best bang for buck, I would use Rinseless for general wipe down maintenance. 4. A deeper clean, I would use a dedicated interior cleaner (somethin with surfactants that suds up/foams with aggitation) 5. Any interior protectant after can be applied, or even vehicle "detail spray". Keep in mind the leather is coated, so its like a clear coat. 6. Conditioner should only be used for genuine RAW leather which in most vehicles is RARE. One vehicle that comes to mind is the Ford King Ranch. |

first thing i would do is to get some clean microfiber towels
wet them and wring them out as much as you can and wipe all those surfaces i don't like to use any chemicals (unless i have to to remove a stain) those damp towels do a great job and will eliminate most dirt/stains if you still have stains, i like the use just the foam of a cleaner, not the actual liquid part wipe with soft brush, and then wipe with a damo microfiber another thing that works great is steam especially in leather seats it dissolves all the oils and residue that comes from us ![]() then after you clean them you apply leather conditioner to keep it soft

I still like CG nonsense as the best pure cleaner out there. Also works excellent at removing blue Jean transfer from silver stone leather with out having to scrub.
I hated the ol$ Lexol in orange and brown. The new grey Lexol. #2 penetrate past the leather sealant to feed the hide underneath. Have saved hard as plastic leather interiors with that stuff, both my Dakota amd a Coral red.

I use 303 Interior as my all purpose interior cleaner and have generally been very pleased. It gets the grime a lot better than the Chemical Guys stuff (which I found to be quite useless) and leaves a nice semigloss finish.
