BMW F31 330D - P0101 & P115D error codes
Hi all
Had an engine warning light up the last 4 weeks. Car is a 2013 BMW F31 330D - N57D3O/01 P0101 - Mass or Volume flow “A” circuit range/performance P115D Only seems to flag up when under load Replaced with a new Hatachi MAF sensor and new air filter and all good for a few days and then same error code again with engine light back up. Cables to sensor seem ok so what now? Air leak maybe or EGR valve. How would I test for an air leak? Any sudgestions would be great Attached are the fault codes and the engine state when the error code was thrown up via Auto Doctor App |

An update if anyone ever has the same issue...
I dismantled & checked all the inlet pipes from the air filter down to the turbo for leaks and all seem fine and in good condition, so the took off EGR valve and cleaned that using carb cleaner and although it had a little carbon build up didn't seem much. Also took off the MAP sensor on the manifold which again I've cleaned using contact cleaner and had quite a lot of carbon buildup on it but not sure how much inside the actual sensor itself. Took it for a drive and so far so good but will wait and see as the MIL P0101 is only triggered under certain loads and not very often. Fingers crossed as there doesn't seem much in the way of info for the N57D30 engine .... |

Was a crack in the EGR rear cooler pipe. Seems like a super common problem on both the 2.0d and the 3.0d versions with a recall on 2.0d versions to fix them.
I've emailed BMW to see if they can do anything as I've seen a lot of cases now that BMW have replaced it on a good will and just charged labour... |

Fix this today. Got a EGR cooler for a 520d as all the units seem the same across multiple cars, for £95 delivered off EBay. Took an hour to fit and some coolent.
The Cooler pipe had 2 large splits in the end. |

I called and they said to take it in, would have cost for the inspection and the service centre where quite upfront and said it would likely not be covered for a good will so didn't bother booking it in.
