G20 with some M performance bits on and THOSE black grills

Saw it parked up in Chester - looked quite nice in blue with the black additions to it - I'll probably own one at some point but those grilles are never going to look right

Rears nice, front end looks cheap. Too much gloss black plastic.

Most things look a lot better from the rear

Indeed ..
still that front end would look a bit better with crome grills

I think rear looks overly fussy in those shots, I'm convinced the car looks better in black with the black bits.

Still think the front grill looks awful, what a shame.

I know what you mean. Due to the proportions, 'all black' grilles just don't work on some colours, certainly not on blue or white cars. Looks cheap and tacky to me.

The grilles are definitely not good.

Mind you, I thought the X3 grilles were too big when I first saw it.

And I still do in all honesty.

The X3 grills are a little on the big side, but they suit the car much better than the stupid big pair of comedy lips of a grill on the new 3

The grilles on the G20 are dreadful - they'd be a no-go if I was in the market for a new car.

I think that’s just because the X3 has been around longer and you’ve had time to get used to them.

At least the 3 series grilles aren’t as bad as the X7, or no way near as bad as the 7 series facelift, which are just absolutely ridiculous.

I like the 7 series new grilles, the car looks bad ass but you need the 50i or 60i to carry off the look, it looks like it'll eat you.

X3 grilles too tall vs. the width so look slightly odd, the G20 grilles have too much lippy around the edges that's what makes them odd looking.

It's the black grilles that look particularly bad on the new 3, they just look like an over sized pair of collagen filled lips due to the shape as much as the size .. I can probably get used to them in crome though. Although the new M340i grilles are hideous!

The new 7 series almost looks like a grill with wheels.

I saw several of each at Coopers, and in person the black grilles definitely look best, especially on a black car!

Ridiculous comedy grilles! I’m still sure it must be an April fools joke gone wrong!

It's the solid wedges of black plastic on the snout killing it for me. I think the active grill design looks dreadful when closed.

Agree, the balance of proportions is much better with some chrome in the mix.

The 7-series LCI .... "to me" BMW have completely lost all sense of good design.
