VA Emissions w/ De-catted Downpipe and JB4

So I live in VA with pretty strict emissions and need to know before dropping the money on a new catless downpipe. I want to be able to pass emissions without the removal of the downpipe. I have a JB4 installed currently and want to know if I can pass an OBD test with this. Some have said that it will be fine with cleared codes and no map. Others have said even with cleared codes, readiness is not correct and therefore I will fail. I need to know this before going forward with the install, and would love to get some personal insight into this!

No they do the OBD test. So are you saying I need a cat-sim, or can I just clear codes and then go in?

For an OBDII test, you need a catsim so that your ECU sends a ready signal!!!

I just ordered an IO2 CATSIM by area47.... i havnt recieved yet but will post reviews once i get it!

I am in Illinois and am running catless straight up for now!

Have you gone in for emissions yet with it? Also how has it been for daily driving? You mentioned an O2 spacer, is that because you were throwing codes?

So I think it really is just a fluke with the o2 sensor getting gunky. Spacer would only be added as a precautionary measure o keep it clean. I haven't had to do emissions yet on my car at all
What were the two codes for? Did you simply clear them and move on, or analyze further why they came up?
