Speed limit display

Okay, quick question on the speed limit display option - non HUD (black panel only).

Does it just read sign as you approach / pass it and display it on panel.

Or

Does it flash / highlight more if you go over the sign limit speed.

For example,

I drive in to a 30 from a 40, the panel now shows a 30 sign, what happens if I do 35, does it flash at me to get my attention or just sit there showing 30?

Bummer, thought it might interact a little.

That's what I need a nagging Nora / bitching Betty sort of thing.

Handy if you miss the large red sign heading in to village etc I guess.

I have SLD and always think a flashing image or something similar would make it a lot more worth while...

Yeah my feeling as well, I believe it already has an input from sat nav, if so GPS should be available as a discrete signal.

I have free sat nav software on my phone which displays the speed limit and gives an audible warning if I exceed it. BMW should at least offer the same thing, imo.

It also gets confused on managed motorways. The white matrix that allows you to return to the national speed limit displays as no overtaking. Pity they didn't switch the cars round for rhd on the no overtaking sign
