Seems awfully cheap even for pre lci. Maybe that's why you got a further 4k off the screen price.

I'm my experience, dealers will have a combined price and profit margin... meaning... If they pay a high trade then less discount on screen price and vice versa.

Agree, ....he was ripped off a little on part ex, should have been at least 14k for the 330d... but he got a great deal on the car and it's the overall deal that counts in the end

Firstly who's slagging off the deal? Most posts seem to agree it's a good deal the op got.. including my own post above

What I have pointed out though is that the part ex price was well lower than book price on a 64 plate 330d .. no point tip Toeing round the tulips, I say it how it is.

The overall deal was good though due to generous discounts..which is what matters most here (the discounts on the new car easily made up for the poor part ex on the 330d).

If you move the numbers around a bit, £14k for his old car and £4k off the sticker price gives a trade in of £18k

I don't agree that the 330d PX is particularly low. GFV on a 20,000 mile a year PCP would be around £12-13000 at 4 years. BMW do not AUC cars with 70k mileage on them so they go off auction prices, as that's where the cars go.

I'd put money on not getting more than that on WBAC.

OP that's a hell of a lot of car for the money.

Trade in value is around 14/14.5k on a 64 plate 330d currently.. and you won't buy one from a forcourt (non main dealer) for less than 16k Aprox either.

Agree he got a great car for £39k

This is what everyone is saying even if he got £9k trade and £8k off the screen price,

At the end of the day it all works out the same and the op is happy with a cracking motor.

I'd be happy with that deal and the OP is too which is the main thing, sometimes life is too short to worry about squeezing every last penny out of the deal, the transaction and buying experience should be enjoyable too. Pathological tightness is a very unattractive trait.

Sounds a great deal to me - enjoy it... I think the px price is probably about right - Which Valuation (which seem to be viewed as a pretty good free guide) put my 15 plate 335d GT with the same miles at £13700. Personally at that price though I'd sell (or at least see what I could get) using Tootle (minimal hassle as you are selling to dealers) and for the best return I'd use Autotrader. I always negotiate my purchase separate from the px as I know when I have a great deal on both... Seems to me you've done a great job though on the overall deal - BMW dealers are never generous with the PX value as they generally have greater overheads and that car will just go straight to auction anyway I expect.

Paid £16900 for a 15 plate 330d xDrive M Sport with Adaptive Xenon's, HK and Pro Nav. Full BMW SH and just had major service and new discs and pads all round (M Sport brakes too). Immaculate all round and 70k on the clock. On that basis you'd expect the OPs car to be sold for at least £16k depending on options and condition though it may need to go through another set of hands if BMW put it through auction. 13k is probably about right, maybe 13.5k.

Here's a valuation of my car, it's a 64 plate 330d with 52k miles

18k miles is a fair difference to be honest, I'm assuming it would take your car under £14k. I think £13.5k would be fair, £13k is a touch low but he got a great deal at the other end. Swings and roundabouts.

Yep, WBAC state that as a rough guide, remove 20% of the value for going up into the next mileage bracket. 70k is the next bracket up from hooded's 52k.

So working with hooded's valuation as a benchmark, that brings his valuation (trade) to below what the OP was offered by some margin. Not sure why hooded thinks the OP was stung, as it seems he received a fair price for his PX.

Car owners always think their car is worth more than it is. #manmaths

This has all gone a bit off topic!

For the OP...
Yes. You should bugger off.
This is called f30 post for a reason.
Come to think of it, all you F31, F32 and all the other f'ing numbers should be looking elsewhere aswell!

What's this forum coming to?

Mr grumpy.

I'd say it already has, only the 6 GT shows on the configurator.
