Drivetrain Malfunction and CEL- Possible leak?

Hey guys,

I wanted to see if any of y'all have experienced this before. So yesterday while I was making a U-turn, the engine suddenly bogged down. CEL and drivetrain malfunction didn't come on until about 30 mins later. In the meantime, the car was still drivable. The only thing is, is that when I stepped on it it wouldn't really accelerate. It sounded like a loud exhaust when I did try. Anyways, once I hit traffic lights the engine would turn off on me. When I turn the car on and leave it idling the engine would shake and turn off. I would have to step on it for it not to turn off. So after driving a bit more, the CEL and a drivetrain malfunction message came on. "Drive Moderately. Maximum drivetrain output not available. Consult Service center." I have a code scanner and the codes are below:

102001/Intermittent: Air Mass, plausibility. Air Mass to High.

120308/Permanent: Charging pressure control, plausibility. Pressure too low.

108F01/Permanent: Intake Plenum: Suspicion of leaks between turbo charger and intake valves.

As far as mods go, I have the Dinan Stage 2, and a M sport exhaust. Honestly I believe the 102001 has nothing to do with the other codes. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Thanks! Right now it's at the dealership and they should let me know tomorrow what the issue is. Given that my New Car/Maintenance warranty expires in 2 months, I'm glad this happened before then. With this being said, since the warranty is about to expire should I be looking into getting an upgraded Charge Pipe since I have the Dinan Stage 2?

I had a similar power issue occur today but none of the codes were triggered and vehicle status was "ok" across the board. Power would be fine to 2500ish rpm when it would just cut out. Turned off car, waited 5 minutes to start again and car then ran fine. Though the issue occurred while in Sport mode so I kept in Comfort after restart. Any idea what this could be?

This has happened to me before. As if it got on limp mode. I never found out what it was. Happened to me about 2 times. But ever since, it never happened again.

So the first issue ended up being the charge pipe. Took it to the dealership and they replaced it no charge.

If you're talking about the other issue mentioned, the limp mode, I made a separate thread on that issue which was also resolved. Link is below!

I just got a Powertrain Malfunction: Maximum power not available etc.

Limp home mode. Got home, waited 10 minutes. Code cleared but engine light is on. Code thrown is P2279. Intake Air leak.

What are the chances the two are connected? The first sounds expensive, the second maybe not so much.

Any advice from the folks on here?

Hi there Mike,

Got the same problem and bumping up the thread.
An aftermarket charge pipe is used now, and when I go sports mode and the turbo kick in, this error would appear.
It usually deletes and doesn't reappear.

Looking to get the ER chargepipe to fix this problem. Online order is the best way to go? I'm at cold Michigan!
