N26 328i clunking noise
Hey everyone, I have a 2013 328i xDrive which is currently bagged on Air Lift Performance bags. I’ve been having a clunking kind of noise going on, more like metal hitting metal I suppose. Noise comes from the front passenger side.
Can hear the noise at lower speeds, usually around 20mph or less on bumpy roads. I’ve replaced the following parts: right side thrust arm, left/ right control arms, sway bar end links have been replaced a few times. Went over all bolts making sure they are tightened down. Right side air strut was replaced maybe 5 months ago because of this issue. Still haven’t found the issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated!! |

I had a clunk in the front of my 2014 X1, also low speed small bumps, dealer checked and said everything suspension wise was okay. I replaced the front struts with Bilsteins, clunking noise is gone after strut replacement. 57,000 miles, struts were shot.

Wonder if it's your steering rack/gear. Common issue across F30 platform.

Clunks in any cars are usually related to the tie rod and / or end links. Maybe check those if you haven't already.
