Hey Junkman, seen your vids and was looking for a little advice on technique. I've had reasonably good success with my DA polisher and Meguiers 105 in taking out moderate scratches. I use a pretty good microfiber towel that I wash in the machine and dryer before use. I am noticing that after I take out some swirls and moderate scratches I have small parallel scratches and micromarring..I think from my towel, because they are not circular like the machine might leave. Wondering two things: Could my towels have particles embedded that are just not washing out or when the 105 gets a little dry on the car and I rub it off, lead to scratches from that?
Thanks for your opinion.

Yes, OR... could you be using one of the crappiest, made in China with the tag sewn in the seam piece of Costco or Auto Zone/PepBoys/Advance Auto/O'Reilly's crap? Let me know the answer and I will give you a solution.

Yep..you have the answer. It is from O'reilly and I looked at the tag..made in China. It's the top of the line one they have and cost almost 10$. So now I need the solution.

Dude, that's funny..I went to the website halfway through your vid and saw the price...was expecting some crazy thing...and then when I saw it, I was like what? And then continued on your video and when you got to the price...so true. Now I got to try em.

Welcome to getting unplugged from the towel Matrix. Once your hands touch these, you will wonder why you were using sandpaper to wipe polish off of your car.

I'll give it the ol college try with a microfiber applicator in a small area and see what happens. If I don't post in 24h then someone call my momma to pick me up off the garage floor from exhaustion. |

The part that you are completely leaving out of the equation is the buffing pad is where the majority of the cutting takes place. So using a microfiber cloth and some M205 is going to be like trying to cut a 3" thick Waffle House steak with a butter knife. Those steaks are so tough that they are listed under the WWE section of their menu.

Did you get that quote from Star Wars....Maybe you should start a new saga: "Paint Wars" or "The Korean Microfiber Strikes back" or "The return of the perfect microfiber towel"......nevermind.

Not saying you particularly made the swirls--maybe took it too some wash and almost none of those guys let you out swirl free. The only way is to wash yourself--actually I made some swirls in my car recently drying with those crap towels from China I have. Junkman, cleared that up for me.

Very happy that junkman turned me on to the rapcompany towel - the best and great prices too. Cheap china towels have been decommissioned to the rag pile and / or brake dust / exhaust tip cleaners. Resealed and waxed car with Mazerna powerlock sealant and collinite 845 - great combo thanks to @Money. |

Those "cheap" China towels are not cheap..I bought mine for 9$ each and I have two of them. I already have a bunch of even cheaper micros I use for exhaust tips and wheels...Bummer....lot's of this stuff is trial and error. My towels from the rag company are due to arrive monday..then the palm test.
