Create a folder named "BMWData\CDDB\GRACENOTE" on USB Drive and copy the Gracenote folder and 2 files into it.

It has been almost 5 Years since CIC GNDB has been updated.

Also with CIC, it is ONLY for DVD Audio.

It's not worth burning a DVD for.

A 5 year old database is hardly up to date.

If car was programmed by dealer in last 5 years, you should already have this same version.

My head unit is CIC but I will take both databases for NA…
I'm upgrading my hard drive at the moment and I will try "insert" the NBT one directly into the drive using linux to see if that works… If not, back to the original one.

Hi, just traded in my 2013 F30 (335 6MT)for a 2017 F30 (340 6MT). My 2013 had nav, the 2017 doesn't. Fine, i never really used the nav anyway.. but the CD tracks are not recognized and there is no HDD. BMW guy said my car doesn't have gracenote, thus, every CD I pop in says Track 1, 2, 3, etc... Is that really how that works on BMW? No nav, no gracenote? You have to have Nav to if you want the CD titles recognized? BTW, this B58 engine is far superior to the N55, they are like different cars. Apologies if this is the wrong thread to ask, I searched all over and unable to find this information anywhere.

Thanks for the confirmation SS. BMW can sell a $50K car and you can't even tell what CD you are playing? My wife's POS Honda has a DVD player, gracenote, HDD storage, nav, backup camera, etc, etc, etc. #BS

Welcome to BMW Ownership. Backup camera just finally became standard equipment on their $50k cars, which was standard for years on cars costing half as much.

My friend just bought a $125k M850i Gran Coupe and no Surdound View Cameras, and this is their Flagship sedan.

Isn't that CIC? CIC GNDB has not been updated since 0712, and works for only DVD Audio. You actually need this?
