Sport + mode. Anyone drive in it regularly?

Any use sport + mode a lot? I almost never do. Incidentally I noted that sport plus never drives in 8th gear when left in auto mode. So there are a few more changes then just turning of traction control...

I drive it regularly when I'm without the family and weather permitting. I don't recall it not going into 8th gear. When I'm downshifting to a stop i'm tapping the paddles way more than I'd like.

I use it all the time even with family in the car. I don't need to use the paddles when coming to a stop. I do sometimes use the paddles to get to the lowest gear if slowing down and then speeding up again if I don't stop completely. If I have been using the paddles I may move the lever to the left and then back to get it back into auto faster. It doesn't use 8th in sport+

Locking out 8th gear isn't unique to Sport+. It's true in normal sport mode too.

Mine goes to 8 th in sports mode. I don't like it because the exhaust note drones in that mode with the exhaust fully open in 8th. Also less throttle response.

The 8HP50 in the 340i will permit 8th gear in Sport. The 8HP45 in the 335i is programmed to lock out 8th in Sport.

Yes it shifts more aggressively in sports +. Maybe not so much in pre LCI models which just lock out 8th and turn off traction control. (LCI locks out 8th only in sports+ in auto mode)

it dose a lot more then just turn off traction control and lock out 8th.

traction control isnt truely off and in my 435 i can use 8th, i use the paddles. it also changes shift points and wont kick down gears while in manual mode unless you do it

i can use 8th in my 435

Locking it out, meaning you can manually choose 8th gear, but if an auto with the stick right, once it reverts back to auto, it will shift out of 8th. Mine is 17 340 and it absolutely does that it.

Are both exhausts open in BOTH sport and sport +? Meaning is the exhaust sound the same in both of those modes?

Use Sport+ as a standard DD mode rarely exceed 6th. On the highway comfort to get 8th

Not sure but 7th doesn't drone as much as 8th on the highway.

Wow some of you here are really conservative. I don't think I've ever driven in comfort since I owned the car lol. One major complaint is the pedal is way to soft in comfort. I like the immediate throttle response in sport.

I use Sport+ for DD unless cruising on the highway. I can't stand the way the pedal feels in comfort mode but will resort to it for stop and go traffic.
