The tyre size on 18” are 225x40 all round as opposed to 235x35 on 19”. The 225’s are a fairly common tyre size and can be picked up at a fairly good price. Maybe 255’s on 18” are a low volume tyre size

Picked up my new 128ti yesterday and is poured down immediately as I left the dealers, turning into a torrent as neared home. To top it all a pigeon shat down the side just after I parked up on the drive. Never mind, the car is well and truly christened now I suppose.

I was lucky and got the digital dash and bigger screen for nowt despite ordering the car with the analogue dials and smaller screen. They changed the car spec the day after I placed my order and I guess a delay by the dealer of a day or two lead to me getting the £1000 upgrade for nowt. Surprised me as I didn’t think BMW would give anything away.

Car drives really well and it’s quite nice to get back into a smaller car with good cornering ability. Only photo I got yesterday was in the pouring rain apart from the terrible ones my wife took in the dealers

Looks great... and I think dropping the red accents makes it somewhat more subtle and "under the radar"... and cracking getting the dash and screen for free...

Looking forwards to hearing your thoughts on the car once you get to have some fun in it...

ps - better a pigeon than one of the laser guided shite hawks... thankful of my ceramic coating after recent dive bombings here...

Looks good, we collected a 118i m sport in Misano Blue and got the cockpit live for free, turns out bmw ran out of the basic dials so we got the upgrade.

I'd had my 440i four days when I hit a deer and did £3500 of damage!

Suddenly some pigeon shit doesn't seem so bad!

Pigeon shit pales in comparison. My dad hit a deer on a side road a few years ago and it wrote the car off. He wasn’t a fast driver either.

Congratulations, definitely suits that colour

I picked up my F44 218i sport GC (DCT) at the end of March, Like yourself I was pleased that BMW / dealer honoured the original order price and the live cockpit professional which previously was a £1,000 option

So far I am happy with my choice, the FWD platform does feel different for sure but overall it’s seems well sorted for a FWD car

The 128ti has the 8 speed torque convertor rather than the 7 speed DCT on mine?

I was literally about to post the same. BTW, I top trumped your damage value despite it visually looking minor.

I'd take pigeon shit every time over an actual deer, or even an actual pigeon (I now have a rather odd mental image of a deer throwing pigeons at my car for some reason. I'm strange.)

Thanks and pleased you got the Live Cockpit Pro as well. 128ti has an 8 speed torque converter auto box as you say. Like you I’m well pleased with the drive, it’s really stable and corners superbly.

The Tech on the F40/F44 to my mind makes the car feel very modern, definitely a generational shift from the F30 LCI, among other options I specified park assist and the adaptive LED with HB assist definitely worth the £350 & £500 respectively.

Still deciding whether to use the auto hold, with the DCT it restricts the auto creep that BMW have engineered into the dual clutch auto.

What’s the plan for running in, you going to stick to the BMW 1,200 mile recommendation before exceeding 4500 rpm and or kick down ?

I would anticipate that your motor will absolutely fly when given some beans

I specced the Tech Pack which included adaptive LED’s, HUD, high beam assist, wireless charging, enhanced bluetooth and park assist. Very pleased with it, in fact just been out for a drive to see what the lights and interior would be like in the dark.

I’ll stick to the 1200 miles as far as not exceeding revs but try to drive it not gently but not hard either if you know what I mean, plenty of rev variation. Definitely no kick down, I hate that even in a motor that’s been fully run in. In terms of cabin quality it is very good indeed, my only gripe is the door bins are hard plastic and I wish they had felt lined them as it drives me potty when things knock against the sides. And “Hey BMW” doesn’t get my Scottish accent very well either! ( think “Eleven” from Burnistoun, google it if you don’t know what I mean)

I like the auto hold as I had it on my VW, but with this being true auto I’ve been turning it off for putting it in the garage or for low speed manouvering as it makes things easier. Love that BMW have decided that once Lane Assist is turned off, it stays off as I definitely don’t like it.

The big screen is a real bonus though and is very easy on the eye

Hey BMW sometimes struggles with my Ayrshire accent! So I know the frustration

Agreed on the door bins, but small gripe, planning to try out the park assist this weekend without the wife being in the car as she will be convinced it’s all going to end in tears

Still waiting for my M135i to go into production, the Leipzig factory hasn't had any semiconductor delays yet but Oxford Mini and Regensburg BMW are stopping production for a few days this week.

Is your new profile picture small enough (size given below upload button) and are you uploading from your device?

How much more was a M135i by the way.
Doubt it would be much? I wonder if anyone has tried both back to back and can comment on the experience?

With discount on the M135i probably about £1.5 - £2k but with the extras I’ve got on the ti it would have taken the M135i over £40k list, meaning the higher rate car tax for 5 years which I didn’t want to pay. Also higher running costs pushed me in the direction of the ti
