Idrive service update

Gents, just had the car serviced and it's been recorded on the service portal but not showing on the idrive, does this update later or do I need them to add it?

Had mine done yesterday and it was on the iDrive straight away as I checked before leaving the dealers.

Yeah, you'll need to take it back. It's done in the workshop on completion of the job.
Or in your case, should have been.

I'll give them a shout on Monday, they have updated the online service as I've got the paperwork but not the idrive itself, the car actually didn't need a service I just wanted to give it an annual oil change for peace of mind

Ah... if it's not a scheduled service I don't think it's possible to put it in the iDrive.

I’ve over serviced my 335dx every 6 months with an oil service and I have everything in my Idrive. If he’s had the oil changed it’s still an oil service irrespective of whether needed or not. Same as stamping the book isn’t it?

Even though they recorded it on the bmw portal? Is this correct?

As a matter of interest steve430dxdrive, how much did your dealer charge for just an oil & filter change? Mine is in the dealer for its first "oil service" in 2 weeks time & am thinking about having annual oil services done as I don't like this 24 month schedule.

Hey, I went to my Indy BMW specialist, they charged me £168 all in, much cheaper than stealers

I’d assume you added that yourself? If that’s the case it’s a little different to a stamp in a service book. If you sell that and someone gets it serviced at BMW they lose all of that history.

Nope, all added by the dealer without ever having to ask or prompt. And no, it won’t be lost as it’s on BMW’s servers.

Thanks for the response steve430dxdrive & heads up on indy prices. There is a reputable indy in Liverpool which I was going to use for the interim oil & filter. I wasn't particularly concerned about having the I Drive updated as the following service will be the cars first major at the dealer which I am assuming will be oil, filters & plugs.

If you get the right Indy, they update it on the BMW service portal and on your idrive, mine is normally very good, he must have wanted to go home early yesterday and forgot lol

Right…I've been back to the garage 1) he hasn't got the software to update the idrive service history, 2) when he entered the service on the Kasio system he entered it as miles not KM, am aware of this as I spoke to BMW to check the history and they said your last service was 20000 miles less than the last one because of this. I asked them if they can change it but they said they can't because they didn't do the entry so…1) are BMW telling porkies or can anyone who has access to the Kasio system change the service to the correct mileage?
