Looking to lower my car
I drive a 2014 335i msport and im looking to lower my car. Im not looking to slam it just get rid of the huge gap. I live In ontario so snow is a factor. Coils or springs? Id like to keep the adaptive suspension so i guess coils would be my best choice.
Anyways can someone provide me with so info on what my best option is? Thanks |

Did some research and the best springs seem to be either eibach or H&R

You are xdrive so Eibach euro pn. Can get on eBay.
Or kw street comforts so you can crank it back up to stock height for snow clearance. Actually rides extremely well maxed out.

2015 335xi here on Eibach 05-22 springs with Koni Yellows and replaced factory F30 bump stops with factory F80 bump stops from local BMW parts dept. Very happy, would not do anything differently.
I recommend looking at this thread; Any EIBACH SPRINGS on F30 335i X-DRIVE? https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1501682 Also, if looking to do the install yourself I highly recommend this incredible video from Farkle; |

Tip: with higher mileage cars, replace the other components above and below the springs at the same time. They have degraded with age and wear. This restores new car suspension feel. See photos. Get part numbers from realoem website. You are smart to keep the EDC/Adaptive damper technology that you paid for. Keep an eye on them since they often leak when they wear out. They must be replaced in pairs. Bilstein B4-DampTronic are stock replacements. Bilstein B6-DampTronic are their higher quality replacements. With your mileage, I would suggest replacing at least the front struts with DampTronics at the same time as the springs. The struts have to be removed anyway to swap the springs so the strut labor is essentially free if done at the same time. The labor on the rears is less so you could wait on the rears if you don't have the cash for rear DampTronics at the same time. Hope this helps! |
