Hey all,

Hoping someone has experience replacing the subwoofers under the seats in a F34?

Here in Denmark the F34 is sold in three different audio setups which means you have the base stereo, the hifi system and the H/K system.
Now in my case i got my F34 used and had to come to terms with having the s***ty base stereo system which only comes with the 6,5" subwoofers under the seats.

I was looking at the Match MW- 8BMW-D as direct replacements as i'm installing the Alpine BMW hifi kit sometime next week.

Can anyone recommend anything else for upgrading the subs? or is the Match units worth the 350$ ?

The Alpine BMW hi-fi kit isn't worth the effort or cost. The Match speakers are nothing special either. Your best bet is the Match 7 Up amp and Earthquake SWS-8Xi woofers, plus tweeters in the doors.

To complement what Billfitz already said...

Note: The basic audio system has 6.5" underseat subwoofers but they should be installed in the same sub boxes that hold the 8" subs. So the Earthquake SWS-8Xi 8" subs fit right in. Make sure to install them with the Earthquake 8" spacer rings, $25/pair.

Some early subwoofers are glued into cabinets at the factory. One trick is to remove the entire cabinet and place it in the freezer for maybe an hour. Then use a plastic trim tool or plastic putty knife to work around the stock subwoofer and pop it out

You are recommending an amp that is not compatible with the OP OEM system.

Take a look at the MB Quart Qm-200w woofers, or the SWS-8X (4ohms) subs with the Alpine amp kit as replacements of the OEM 6.5" woofers.
