Dog crate - 4GC?

Anyone here got a dog crate in the boot of a 4GC? We have small dogs which would fit in crate in the boot if fitted at the back of the rear seats but wondered if anyone has one already? Would avoid me needing to have them on the back seat and cover the thing in fur...if you have one can you share where you got it from?

TIA

I do that on regular basis. It's really good, though our crate is slightly too big.

I'll take some pictures of it during the weekend and post it here.

You can get dog crates that are angled e.g triangle shape or even better still get a soft crate so it A)won't damage the the car and B) if it's a snug fit you can normally squash it in.

Sorry I should also say my car is an F31 but the boot isn't exactly big!

Not for a BMW but I bought a crate for my wife's Civic tourer from here :

Not particularly cheap but a good fit and seems well made

Started this a while ago but have managed to convince the better half to use the Kia since I got the car 6 months ago

Downside is I have a cross country trip to do in a few weeks and Ill be damned if I am am going to do it in a Kia.

Anyone got a cage in a boot on a GC? Will need to be a slanted/sloped fronted cage but if anyone has one they knows fits that would be great

I went through this a couple of years ago but couldn't find anyone that made a crate or divider for a GC. I also didn't like the top down angle of the glass as even with privacy thought it would be too much (we travel to Croatia quite often where it can get stupidly hot).

Why do you need a crate, just put the dogs in the boot!

Do you mean a cheap cage or a proper crate? There is a firm out there that makes them special size for each car - was looking at one for my SQ5 but they didnt have the new model out at the time and it was 500!!

Here you go - havent looked if they do one for the GC...

https://www.transk9.com/

what sort of dog is it?

Edit - they dont do 4GC - only F31

yeah no one seems to do them cos you need to have small dogs (got that) to make them fit in the space - I thought I had found one, but it was 3cm too high

Do you really need a crate though? If you've got more than one, you could just line the boot and let them have the space?

My two go absolutely no-where near my GC!

That's what Volvos are for!

Nice too - but I need to put other stuff in the boot with the dogs too, so need to make sure they are protected from any movement of luggage in the boot

I wish! - but I would rather find solution than do an 8hr round trip in a 1.4 petrol Kia!

I'm looking at transport cages at the moment. We've just had an 8 week old Guide Dog pup (That is growing daily!). We may get away with a medium sized one - certainly now, but who knows what size she will be when we give her back in 12 months (amidst tears of course!). Looking on Zooplus, the aluminium ones don't really look space efficient, and I'm leaning towards a nylon one with a frame. I too want to have room for luggage etc, but I don't mind dropping a back seat or two to accommodate the cage as I've got no mates, so the back will be empty.
Not going down the back seat dog cover route for the GC, but will be doing that in SWMBO Skoda.
Dog will be in a harness on rear floor of the Doblo - plenty of room there!
