► New Release: 19” APEX ARC-8 Wheels

New Release: 19” APEX ARC-8 Wheels
8 New sizes including deep concave fitments

Long anticipated, and arriving in Q3 2014, the APEX ARC-8 wheel will finally be available in 19″ sizes for BMW. The ARC-8 design was first released back in 2009, and originally only available in race oriented fitments in a smaller 17″ and 18″ diameters. The straight spoke mesh design allowed for a strong and light-weight wheel that quickly became popular among racers and enthusiasts alike for it’s deep spoke concavity.

The new 19″ diameter is part of APEX’s push towards supporting both the race and street crowd with specialized fitments. These larger diameter wheels are configured to cater more specifically to the aesthetic needs of the street going enthusiast, along with functional changes that better meet the needs of the street environment.

Just like the rest of the APEX wheel line, the ARC-8 is once again produced using the Flow-Forming manufacturing process. Flow-Forming, which has also been called “Roll Forging” or “Spin Forging”, produces a barrel with similar strength to that of a fully forged wheel. This reduces weight in the most significant part of the wheel, as it has the greatest impact on rotational mass.

More aggressive wheel widths and offsets were selected versus our line of race-oriented wheels, allowing for a flush fit without spacers. Now available in 17″, 18″ and 19″ diameters, the ARC-8 is produced using two unique face profiles for each diameter with increasing spoke concavity. A total of 25 BMW specific sizes will be available once these 8 new 19″ sizes arrive. This new diameter will be available in 3 finishes: Hyper Silver, Anthracite, and Satin Black. Hyper Black will not be available upon initial release. Sizes, and pricing are listed in the graphic below. Weights will be updated upon receipt of final production samples.

Strength improvements were made to help specifically address the unique abuses of the street where low-profile and stretched tire fitments are used. To help fight wheel bends, we’ve increased the thickness of the wheel’s inner lip. Load ratings exceed JWL requirements, and all sizes have been crush tested in Japan, earning them official VIA certification and registry marks. Additionally, the barrel’s diameter increases sharply after the drop center, improving big brake kit clearance. The ARC-8 also accepts OEM Roundel center caps, TPMS sensors, and comes with our newly redesigned gloss-black APEX center caps.

For those that fell in love with the ARC-8′s looks and lightweight features but wanted something larger, your wheels are now here.

Nice, but it looks like these are E9x fitments. Any chance of 19x9 ET35 and 19x10.5 ET45?

The 19x8.5" ET35 and 19x9" ET38 would be a fitment for the F30 chassis. We do not currently have any plans of making the wheels in those widths and offsets, but may do so in the future.

If those offsets are available, I'd be in, as would many on this forum as that is a very common setup most go for. Of course you guys are after the track/performance market (and rightfully so), but I'm never going to track this car.

F30dud,

We would not recommend the 19x10 ET25 on the rear of the F30 without some serious camber and fender work. We would recommend the following fitment if you are looking for a Profile 3 front and rear fitment:

19x9" ET28 ARC-8 Wheels
245/35-19 Tires

19x9.5" ET33 ARC-8 Wheels
275/30-19 Tires

This will require a fender roll in the rear as well as negative camber front and rear. This is the best Profile 3 19" fitment that we offer. Keep in mind that a 265 rear tire would be a much easier fit for this application!

Hey just wanted to confirm before I place my order for the Arc 8’s, if I do 265 in the rear, will I still need to roll the fender? Also was thinking about just doing 235 in the front to avoid the negative camber and fender roll. Does that sound right? As in, would that work to not have to roll or camber.

Also I am on stock suspension with Swift springs (1in drop front/rear)

Thanks in advance!

Bbarsoum,

Generally speaking, moving down in tire width can often improve clearances. In this case, even with a 265mm rear tire, you will still be at risk of rubbing the fender under compression, especially since your car is lowered.

We would still recommend a fender roll in the rear, as the ET33 offset is fairly aggressive on the F3x chassis. Camber front and rear is also recommended, regardless of tire size simply due to ride height.

Camber in the rear will minimize the amount of fender rolling required. Up front, camber will reduce the chances of rubbing under compression at your current ride height.

I hope that cleared things up a bit!

Any setups with Profile 1 Front / Profile 3 Rear or is that not a common choice? Looking for a setup for my F30 w/ H&R Sport Springs, The red car above looks phenomenal and im looking for a setup like that.

Thanks for the reply! We do offer a few mixed profile setups for the F30! here are some photos of one option on an F31:

Front
19x8.5" ET35 ARC-8 in Hyper Silver (Profile 1)
235/35/19 Tires
5mm Spacer

Rear
19x9.5" ET33 ARC-8 in Hyper Silver (Profile 3)
265/30/19 Tires

Suspension
H&R Sport springs

Since the springs match your setup already, I think this would be a great option for you! Keep in mind that this car is running a 5mm spacer up front for flush fitment. You may also need to roll your rear fender slightly depending on tire choice.

The setup on the red car is a great choice as well! Let us know if you have any other questions.

Unfortunately, the front wheels will not be in stock until late August/early September. The rears should be in stock in July.

Hi there,

While we do not have any current plans to offer Matte Bronze on our 19" ARC-8 wheels, it is something we will consider if the demand presents itself.

Is there any particular wheel spec that you are interested in seeing a Matte Bronze finish on?

Fitment for 2016 340i xdrive

Hello,

I am looking at getting 19 x 8.5 (squared set up since I have a xdrive) in satin black ARC-8's. I am also on the dinan springs. What offset do you recommend for no fender work? Anything else you recommend?

Thanks!

Thanks for the question! If 19x8.5 is your goal, I would recommend our 19x8.5 ET35 wheels. This fitment is available in our ARC-8, EC-7, and SM-10 designs. with 235/40-19 tires or OEM 225/40-19 tires you shouldn't have any issues with rubbing on your Dinan springs.

Here is a shot of this setup with slightly more aggressive 255/35-19 tires:
