Fellow California F3x drivers, what do you run?

So being limited to 91 Octane is a bummer here in California, I could drive ~20 miles to a station that sells 100octane and mix with 91, but its not worth the hassle every time I need to fill up.
I drive a 2015 435i
This is the reason i'm running the BMS Stage 1. I also have the BMS intake and have a AWE Touring axle-back on the way since i was disappointed with the MPE. (my e92's MPE was 3x louder, hence my disappointment)

I was curious to what others here or elsewhere limited to 91 at the pump run on their cars? Is a catless DP worth it if i cant run stage 2 because of gas restrictions?

If you're looking for a flash tuned stage 2, just get a map for 91 and you'll be fine.

91AKI isn't the best, but it won't cause any problems if your tune is mapped for it. I run Shell or Chevron 91 a vast majority of the time with my stage 2 tune (mapped for 91AKI). Occasionally, I'll swap to my E30 map and fill up with about 4 gals of E85. Car seems to run smoother and I get a noticeably harder kick in the pants. But for day to day driving, 91 is good enough for me, especially since E30 drops my mileage a bit.

Interesting, i didn't know you could get a stage 2 tune to run on 91. Im guessing it requires catless DP/intercooler?

Stage 2 requires catless or high flow catted dp. Intercooler is sort of optional, though most recommend it. It's probably the last power mod I'll do. But I'm in Nor Cal where ambient temps don't really get crazy hot and heat soak hasn't been much of an issue.

Have you dyno'd it? What kind of numbers do you pull with your set up?

Yeah, I'm with you on that--have not seen (from watching IAT) a huge need to upgrade the IC. I run 91 Oct and e85 with stage 2+ 91 oct e30 map.

Throw in 2.7 ounces of boostane professional with every fill up = approximately 94 octane. It ends up costing a about $2.50 a fill up to rid yourself of shitty 91 octane gas.

I live in AZ. We have emission restrictions here, but it's nowhere nearly as bad as Cali. That being said, we run the same piss gas you guys have out there.
I have an F30 N55 EWG Stage 2 91 octane BM3 with FBO. Are you saying all I would need to safely run a few gallons of E85 to a full tank of 91 octane is an E30 map??? It can't be that easy! I don't need any supporting mods for fuel (HPFP, LPFP, upgraded injectors, etc...)? Is that right? So I have a hi-flo catted downpipe, fmic, charge pipes, intake, and a BM3 tune. Would I need anything else to run an E30 map fairly safely?

I haven't had any issues. No fuel delivery upgrades. However, I have a PWG which I've heard can take more E85 (I also have an E40 map, but suspect I should probably at least upgrade my LPFP to stg 2 to run it). I've read that EWGs can run up to E30 without supplemental upgrades, but don't quote me on that. There are a few E85 focused threads so you may want to do additional research for your car. Or, load the map and try a tank, see how your car responds. But of course, play at your own risk!

That is correct. You don't need anything else. I generally run 4 gals of E85 with 12 gals of 93 octane, a calculated E29 mix (when in Cali I was topping off with 91 octane obviously) with no other supporting mods with no issues. The main issue you might run into is a dip in fuel pressure if the HPFP can't keep up due to too much E85. I'm EGW, FBO + bm3. Make sure to get a test kit and test the ethanol content before adding to your tank though.
